Please consider this as a little present from me to you. I’ve been using it since 18 November 2008 when it first appeared . I consider it one of the strongest anti virus, spy ware programs going and it’s free! It’s Microsoft Security Essentials. The URL for it is: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ . You can obtain it by typing Microsoft Security Essentials into your search engine or simply copying the URL into your address bar. There’s an ugly virus going around that has cost millions, if not billions of dollars. MSE can handle it. When the virus first appeared it was sneaking past almost all anti virus, spy ware programs. Whenever I use my computer, I always open MSE. I use the Update feature, go to the Home feature, begin a full scan, and minimize it. It never gets in the way, and as far as I can tell, doesn’t slow anything down. I highly recommend it.
For instance: I have four different email programs I generally use daily for different reasons., one with yahoo, one with MSN, one with HughesNet, and one with gmail. When I quit using them I never use the (empty) feature. I open up the spam and trash folders, check the “select all” box at the top or bottom of the folder and hit “delete” which removes them from my PC forever. I was advised by a geek to do this and it’s good insurance. By doing that a virus can’t hang around in your PC and continue to do damage. It’s good insurance and doesn’t take very long. I always look at all the emails before I do so for further reference. When I opened my spam folder on my yahoo account I noticed an email from a long time acquaintance of mine from Rocky Point. I thought, That can’t be right. They must have made a mistake.” I un-spammed it and opened it, and was immediately infected with the virus. Microsoft wouldn’t accept my email request because I was infected with the virus again. I ran a full scan with MSE and the virus was eradicated agaim.
