Very cool commentary going on right now. These meteorites come from the comet P8. Guess it's one of the earliest comets identified hence the low number. And this show is the only one that you observe in the north.

Ahhh, the more Southern you are the less likely you are to see it, and south of the equator you wont see it at all.

I happened to look out of the bedroom window last night and saw one. It was so quick at first I didn't realize what it was.
I thought maybe it was the space station but the speed and change of brightness clued me in. Lucky shot.

Tonight will not be too late too.....a great show last night and a super reason to have a beach place in Sonora...twenty minute ride out of Penasco and you are in the dark dark like no other place...viva Mexico!

When viewing to the east even Unconscious has a great sky view. Reminded me of 74 Draw in the Gila where we spent many happy hours. Had 3 sons there one night and we took a night stroll, tuned off all the lights and they were amazed how the sky was white.

When the time is right, weather, etc., would love to go on an organized trip to Pinacate for star/meteor shower watching.
