On the assurances of other members who said they drove this part of the road, I took the new coastal highway south on the way to Kino. Road was good up till a few miles south of Liberdad. First part was well and carefully patched so I was optimistic. After a few miles it all went to Hades in a handbasket. There are 4 or 5 very deep dry washes, in the first few miles. Road surface was all torn up and one was fille with 3 or 4 feet of sand and one lane cleared. From there all the way to the highway to Kino, the road surface sucked big time. Not just avoidable pot holes but broken up paving with 3 to 6 inch valleys between the chunks of paving. There were a couple of flat parts and I would get up to 40 or so then back to 10 -15 mph. True I was driving a 900o lb. van motorhome with stiff suspension but I would avoid it with any vehicle. It is BAAAAAAD. Took the long way home, much easier on my van and my nerves.
BTW, lots of construction in and around Hermosillo. Driven from Kino many time but got all screwed around this time with detours, etc. Could not find the shortcut by the dump and mine.
