How about a new thread title. I believe a title for transportation of goods to RP would be handy. I know that, I for one, seem not to read of a transportation need to take stuff down to RP on a timley bassis. We are going down on a fairly regular bassis and would be happy to be of use.
Another thing that would be of help would be a downloadable letter to use at the border to avoid the duty hastle.
Thanks

That topic fits perfectly in the Border forum and has been discussed there on many occasions.

If we had the letter, I could create it as a Word document or PDF and provide a link in a sticky at the top of the Border forum. I have no idea what the letter actually says or who is supposed to sign it, etc.

No one would touch that. I'm sure it's on a one time deal per person per visit. Ask Rosie, she has done it before.

Yes, the letters have to list all the items being crossed and be signed by the mayor in ink and the original letter has to be with the crossers. That's why Rosie drove up to the border and met me when I had a whole bunch of stuff once. Otherwise you have to give her enough time to snail mail the letter.

Terry and Chari are right, the letter must have the following:
- Itemized list of what you're bringing
- Who you are donating it to
- Copy of your I.D. as the person making the donation
- Description of vehicle transporting the items as well as plate and v.i.n number
- Mayor's signature, original

I can help get these letters, but sometimes they're slow getting back to me with the signature and so I'll meet you at the border. Of course there's always the chance you'll just get the green liight, but I wouldn't recommend risking it.
