Serious Road Hazard Alert !

Right in the middle of Sinaloa, close to Bumaye in the Mirador there is a missing man hole cover. Been like that for several days waiting for some poor Semana Santa visitor to wreck the suspension of a vehicle. There was a cardboard box placed nedt to it but no pylons or emergency tape to be seen.

Last night I came close to killing 4 gents dressed in total black who stepped in front of me right at Capones. Fortunately I was doing maybe 35 MPH and managed to veer and miss them, but it scared the crap out of me for sure. Local pedestrians often think they have the right of way if they can just get in front of your vehicle, irrespective of your speed and location. Drive with care.

Last time we were down there, Kay and I came out of Capones and started to cross the street. We looked up and saw a police car coming so we stopped. They turned on their gumball lights and I thought, "Oh S**T I'm going to have a meeting with the man again.."

Turns out they were stopping traffic so we could cross. That has never happened in my 78 years here in the states. Viva Mexico and my friends at the Centrol PD.

Hola Roberto, any idea whether the manhole is still uncovered? If not, I'd like to report it.

They fixed the one on Sinaloa, seems OK now. Maybe they are trying to get a handle on the sewer problems we have had in recent years. There is a definate lack of respect for motorists when they do stuff like this. They went through the dirt streets in the Mirador and uncovered the buried sewer covers. They did not take the covers but just left a huge hole with dirt piled around as a nice road hazard. I had the suspicion that someone was stealing them to sell for scrap. Months ago a guy went through my neighborhood and stole all the steel trash barrels !! He was driving an old suv hauling a trailer with the barrels banging around in the back, hilarious. I would have chased him but I was inside the house just out of the shower. Heard they were worth about 5 pesos as scrap!!
