Gee, I guess the progressives better get working on that legislation to ban ATV ownership before all the criminals start flipping them on purpose to kill innocent people...
I AM ONLY KIDDING JERRY!
{sort of}
I am not trying to make light of another person's death. This is sad news. My reply above is only because your headline and warning to stay off the dunes is presented as such a forceful editorial...
I fully agree: Riding ATV's on the dunes can kill you.
So can playing golf.
So can smoking.
So can drinking alcohol
So can boating/diving/swimming/surfing in the ocean
So can walking or driving along a busy street
So can riding horses
So can riding roller coasters
In fact, just about anything that is fun probably has some element of danger to it, otherwise our adrenaline wouldn't get flowing...
Sitting around playing Canasta just does not have any sense of adventure to it.
Now, I will fully agree with you that riding loud, obnoxious ATV's all over wild sand dunes near quiet, serene beaches is pretty annoying; especially when there are fully developed dune areas like Glamis where you can go as crazy as you want (and potentially kill yourself) in an area where there is always medical/paramedic staff in close proximity..
Heck, in Glamis you might even manage to accidentally kill yourself with a drunken, screaming audience of scantilly clad women egging you on....:woo:
