Recommendation for Auto Mechanic in RP... need transmission work

Hi all. Our 2006 Saturn Vue has a serious problem with the transmission... may need to be rebuilt/replaced. Does anyone have any recommendations for a mechanic or shop in RP that is qualified? The few local shops I've contacted so far do not work on transmissions (and claim nobody in RP does). Hard to believe... but, maybe I start looking to get the car towed back to AZ? Thanks.

Try SDS Automotive, Doug Shukers 638-105-5909. On left hand side of Fremont coming from Benito Juarez, near the Ford dealer. You'll prolly have to get a rebuild tranny up in AZ or a used one out of Mexicali. I went through this with a van a couple of years ago and a local guy 'fixed' it !!

SDS is good but I have had major repairs done on my wifes Jeep at Arizona Automotive behind Santa Fe market, Fransisco 638-384-0083

I just had a Honda Accord automatic transmission rebuilt at a friend's shop in Mesa. The total price was $1300 including a new torque converter. That included a 12 mo/12,000 mile warranty. I assume a Saturn would be a similar price. He said it would be $1000 if I brought him the transmission out of the car. If you can't get it done in RP, let me know and I'll get you the contact info.
