Questions about Mexican diesel

My old 99 F-250 runs great on Mexican diesel but the truck is getting pretty old. New American pickups will only run on "clean burn" diesel. For extended trips in to Mexico this will create a problem. Have any of you solved this issue?

I solved the problem by deciding to keep my '01 7.3 F-250. It's still a baby with 98,000 miles on it.
Plus, the idea of huge payments for a $53k to $56k new truck (replace it like and kind) made the decision even easier!

The long and short of your question is - short term use, no problem. Long term? You will indeed have issues. Dodge with the Cummins 6.7 seems to be even worse because the DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogs. There is a decent read on the subject over at Baja Insider at this link:

Thanks. In 2014 Dodge is supposed to have a Cummins Turbo V-6 for a half ton truck that will be pretty high mileage (for a truck).
My friend has a new dodge that continually plugged the DPF, even on clean burn diesel.
My Ford runs great but at almost 200k a lot of the peripheral stuff like wheel bearings, 4wd, AC compressor......are going. I am not confident on long trips anymore but 100% agree about not wanting to drop 50k on a new truck.
Side note: I drove the Ford Ecoboost V6 and it was incredible.
