PUERTO LOBOS

I was talking to a fellow that says they now has power , water, a gas station and an RV park.

IUt has been a while since I was down there and felt like telling him NO WAY but held my tong.

So what is the status?

OK, I just finished a post under the fishing section (Santo Tomas thread) where I told someone that Lobos has no gas station or RV park. Since things can happen pretty fast, I'll check it out and let you know next week.

Last I knew, water was brought in by truck. It isn't especially good to drink as it's very salty, but it's fine for washing dishes, flushing toilets, taking showers and so on. We treat it like gray water and drink only the water we bring with us.

Electricity came in about three years ago. There are street lights now. Dang it.

I look forward to it and a road condition update from Rocky Point to Lobos. Thanks.

was there in June. No drinking water to speak of, gas you can buy at the store ,but I wouldn't. Liebertad has diesel , most of the time . There are no r v parks either. I have been there a while and street lights suck. Email me if you want a place to camp. Have a little place on point you could stay on if you'd like

Just returned from Lobos and posted a lengthy reply on the fishing forum in the thread entitled "Santo Tomas." But I'll address road conditions here.

Except for the first 10 or 15 miles coming out of Rocky Point, the road is quite good. We did experience potholes at the beginning of that stretch. Seems they started re-paving south and have been working their way north. Eventually it should all be good at least for a while.

Farther south you will encounter at least one detour onto a gravel road where they're working. They're doing a nice job.

For more information about what is new in Lobos - and what isn't - check the Santo Tomas thread on the fishing forum.
