Pp very busy and i need help on my boat eng.

I have never seen PP this busy. It had to have been a great weekend for all of the business. The folks camped next to us were from Juana in Ca. I ask them why they came all the way here and they said it is way nicer than San Felipe. The ocean was a zoo in close with the jet ski people. They were flying and way to close to swimmers. I am amazed there was no one run over.

Well today they seem to be all gone and the ocean is smooth and ready to be fished.

I only have one problem! My Merc 60 lost a seal and water got into the lower unit and took out bearings, seals and the drive shaft is blue where the lower bearing got really hot. Now for my question. Any comments on having the shaft turned or do I need to buy a new one? The mechanic here in PP says buy new one.
Where is the best place to buy the parts I need? Thanks for any help

I would buy new, Bill. If it overheated, you don't know how bad the metal is heat-stressed. May work for awhile, then suddenly snap. Might as well do it right while you've got it all apart. Just my .02.
