Over 30 Minute Wait Crossing the Border

This wait was trying to get INTO Mexico from the US Border Patrol last Fridayafternoon, 7/15/11 . I couldn't believe it- traffic coming down seemed non-existent, so we thought we would breeze through the US Border Patrol stop at the border, but no- there were about 15 cars and some were asked to show ID or give some papers (possibly car registration). There was only one lane open (the new lane and booth they just constructed). I have no idea why they didn't open up the old lanes with the speed bumps because there were about 8 agents just standing around. We asked the agent what was taking so long and she said "traffic". Then we got a green light going into Mexico. I only wish they were this careful when the ATF guns were allowed to go over the border.
