Major league baseball visits Penasco

Lovin it in RP!
Due to the efforts of our own Rick Busa and Fernando ?? (sorry forgot is last name) We had a nice group of MLB Players come down for the baseball clinic here in Penasco. Over 75 local kids were able to participate in this training event. I did not go to the clinic because of work schedules and all but we had a chance to hang out together later and her are a few pics

Heard it was hilarious on Sunday when the coaches played golf at Las Palomas and the wind had picked up considerably....those long ball hitters hitting into that wind...

BTW....that was the Mayor of Penasco in some of the shots (with Jose at BooBar holding the BooBar Mexican flag, and middle of the table at the press conference)....he spent a lot of time at the clinic.

It was a smaller bunch of kids than last year...but that also made it more manageable...the kids got more individual instruction.....they seemed to be more enthusiastic. Two of the coaches also speak spanish fluently, so it helped with the translating. A couple of the translators(local teenagers) were also involved last year, so that also helped.

Rick Busa put in a lot of effort to get this organized, and Scott Steinman, from the Seattle Mariners has been the "push" from the coaches side. So where are the Diamondbacks in all this?????

There were also several local businesses that provided sponsorship.....
