Getting an FMM

Our DD has to get an FMM as she is applying for an FM3 Monday morning. But they are completely goofed up and not crossing the border until about 8pm tonight.

Does anyone know if she can get it at that time of night? Or can she apply for it down here at the same time she is applying for her FM3?

Any help, suggestions, etc., appreciated!

Any place she could get it in Phoenix - like a travel agency or airport counter?

Inka, when I traveled to Guanajuato in July, I went to the consulate in Phoenix (for my son)and was told they no longer issue visas, only at the points of entry into Mexico can you get one, Mexican Immigration is open in Sonoyta until Midnight, so it shouldn't be a problem.

They called the Phoenix and Tucson consulates and both are closed for the holiday. And I did remember that at least last year you couldn't get your visa at them. We were bringing El Gato down end of Sept. and knew how hot would it would and tried to get it done ahead of time - no dice. So one of us stayed in the car with him with the a/c on and took turns going into the immigration office. They were super nice about everything. Took all of about 15 minutes. No one ahead of us. I remember the old days when you were 'suppose' to stop and lines could take hours while they filled out each application. Then they started having people fill them out themselves but it could still take forever - especially on holiday weekends. Think they were just as glad when people didn't bother to stop :) They were free anyway.

It is my understanding that the FMM office is open during the same hours as the border.

They came across the border last night about 8:30pm - one car in front of them. They were the only ones in immigration. It was a breeze - the guy took their passports, filled out the form for them - had them sign them & pay and they were on their way. As long as the border is open the immigration office is open.
