Well first of all, I would like to extend my gratitude and pass a huge thanks to all of those on this thread who are accusing me ferociously murdering magnitudes of fish in Rocky Point this last week. It's really gone to my head, never before in my life have I ever be accused of over-fishing. I don't know what to do wish all this unexpected fame, I truly feel like Zeus, Master of all Rocky Point Fisherman. Unfortunately the reality of it all is if any of you ever came fishing with me, you'd realize how bad I suck as a fisherman and how wrong you all are.
In sincerely appreciate the valid comments in regards to overfishing and conservation, as an outdoorsman I also firmly believe in conservation. But I think some of the comments are a little blown out of proportion because if you look closely at the table of fish we caught there really wasn't that many fish since four of us were fishing on the boat. Did we exceed the daily limit, yes, but really not by that much. We eat everything we consume, I've already eaten about 1/2 the fish I caught, and truly anyone who boats in Rocky Point knows at least 3/4 of the year its too windy to get out there, and some of the times I have gone out to deeper waters I've caught way under my limit. So last week, the first time in months, we got a good catch, went a little over our limit, in the big picture I know I don't overfish. If I did this everyday it would be a different story, but I only go fishing to Rocky Point once about every 2-3 months. And really, for every one fish I catch a year a commercial fisherman probably catches at least 1000.
But mostly importantly, please don't let this feeling of being Rocky Point's Master Fishing King that's gone to my head go away.

OK James Im going to need one of those fish to run some tests on it, to see if it was over caught or not.

Hey, I really don't get a chance to get down there much lately with my boat. But just want to say that I wish there were more days like that. Congrats on the catch and considering the cost per pound to catch them after you come down and rent a condo for $150 a night, usually 3 or 4 nights minimum then go to the local restaurant's to eat, and to the local drinking establishments to drink. Then you hire a local guide for around a $100 per day. Of course you go to the local curio shops to get mementos, go to the local gas stations for gas and I forgot, you also have to buy a fishing permit for $40 per person per year. And who is this person who is complaining about over fishing and not supporting the local citizens.

As I had said to that person, no one but her had any issues with his catch. It was actually a nice thread.
Life, as far as I'm concerned.
I assumed that it was not a one-man slaughter. Never is on my boat, usually three or four guys and we're always very close to limits. Looks like a huge ol' pile of fish on the table when Arturo is cleaning them, but if you did an actual head count on people/fish, the numbers would be very close to (or often under) actual limits. As you said, even if you/we are a fish or two over, nothing goes to waste. And there are many days (especially grouper hunting) where we never even catch a limit. One or two and we're done for the day.
Most sportfishermen are indeed conservationists. I have ran into a few yahoos bragging about catching over 100 fish on a panga charter during dinner. I asked what they caught - "I dunno, some small gray fish," Triggerfish, I'm sure. You won't find a single panga guy that stops fishing because "they have a limit," unfortunately. In the days before I had my own boat, I ticked 'em off by releasing small fish. They keep EVERYTHING that comes into the boat.

I was going to mention the panga trips, but I was sure she had never been near one of the panga boats before. They don't throw anything back. If it's to small to worry about filleting then they are the right size for bait as far as the captains are concerned.
It just goes back to my assumption she or whoever JWT was wasn't spending any time in what I see as the real Puerto Peñasco.

You're right. The old sailor in me comes out at times. Especially when frustrated.
I found this incredibly condescending post to be a bit rich, coming from someone who rarely puts an English sentence together properly and is replete with spelling errors.

I think the dislike button would be more effective at letting you know what people think of your post.
I think you could have used a comma in that sentence?
I can see that I may have to start using emoticons FFS.
I can also see where you might have have had lot's of personal experience, having been on the receiving end of dislike buttons.
Commas are optional with conjunctions, but can also be dispensed with if the reader can read fast enough.
