scott and i arrived at safe marina at 7:30 sat morning and meet our friends dave and harry. we loaded up the boat and headed out. we stopped at a nearby reef to load up on bait. after about 20 min we had plenty. So off to the far reefs we headed. seas were pretty smooth with a light chop. After about 2o miles it laid down to barely a ripple. after about an hour we reached our destination. everyone baited up and dropped down. after the lines went down about 100 feet they went slack. scott and i looked at each other and said#$!##!#$ squid. we managed to hook a couple of them and toss them in the cooler. we moved to another reef and started catching fish. after 3 hrs or so we decided to head back to that 1st reef. to our disbelief the humbolt squid were still there. so back to the other reef we headed again. and caught more fish. then at about 3 oclock the squid moved there to. so we went to the 43. action was pretty slow there. all in all we caught 6 red snapper 2 leopard grouper , 2 sheephead , 1 dorado and 6 giant squid plus several gold spots. was gourgeos day on the water with good company.
