Esmeralda Construction

Heard where construction is suppose to start up again on Esmeralda on Sandy Beach. We've looked at rusty cranes forever. However, the last trip down the beach past Esmeralda we noticed that on the east side of the building complex the old rusty crane(s) were gone and a new crane appeared to be in place. On the west side of the complex the old rusty crane was still standing; however, the arm of the crane was sticking straight up in the sky. The next day the rusty crane arm was back in its normal horizontal position. Someone had been busy. It also appeared that some of the terraces on the west side might have had some work done on them. Or maybe it was just our hopeful imagination.

If this is true would be wonderful news.

I'm down this weekend and have noticed several construction projects around town (that don't appear to be an OXXO store - which are breeding like rabbits). Hopefully a good sign. I wonder if they will resume construction on the plaza/theater complex in the marina.

Heard that the Federal Gov. had taken it over and were actually going to fund the construction in order to finish it up. again, just rumor. But if the cruise port rumor is correct then it makes sense they are 'correcting' some of the problems that would be major negatives to Penasco being a home port.
