I HATE IT WHEN i turn my smart phone on in Mexico and get hit with a data charge...

Jerry, this is why they are called smart phones. Go into your settings and check the box that says, "disable data when roaming" or sometimes it even says disable international data, either way, you can have your phone on for 7 weeks and you're not going to pay anything. Having your smart phone on and with you can be a big help when you're in an establishment in Rocky Point that has wi-fi which is a lot of places now. Obviously where you are in ST it's not going to mean dick to have your phone on anyways.

I use the app called BorderWatch. Normally we cross back on an off day, but when we don't, I turn my data roaming on just long enough to check the border crossing timeswhen we are just about getting to Sonoyta and then turn the data roaming off again until after we cross.

Is ther an app to tell you how to go to the toilet ??? It's neat stuff but making the world dumber and dumber. Not to mention being dependent on and maybe ( are you ready for this Moore?) controlled by huge corporations. I spent many happy hours wandering around in the Gila wilderness and absolutely refused to get a GPS when they became available. If I could not keep track of where I was using a paper map and compass I should have stayed home. Some of the best times were when I was not absolutely sure how to get from point A to B, called serendipity. It's good to be old sometimes, right GV!??

That's what I think, too, Roberto.....Remember that idiot woman that followed her GPS up to the edge of a cliff somewhere back east a few months ago? My Jeep club went wheeling a few years ago and my brother in law's GPS was telling him to go a direction that I knew was wrong.( I have radar in my head, I don't understand how it works but it does. My brother in law doesn't believe it and thinks I'm crazy. LOL) He was actually arguing with me so I finally said, ok, you go that way, I'm going this way. My club said to him, we're following her, she never gets lost... LOL! He never did apologize to me....I don't know an app from a fancy phone and I'm going to keep it that way...

Roberto and Chari, I agree with what you're saying. I don't "get" Twitter, and I read Facebook only because I'm nosy about what my friends are writing, but I rarely post on Facebook. But, there are times when technology comes in handy. For instance, when the bridge in Sonoyta was out and the detour was flooded also, the Facebook page someone set up to keep travelers informed was a lifesaver for many people who otherwise would have had no idea what was happening.
