Black Dog Bites the Dust

Before they turned it into a gambling joint they had awesome hambergers and a pretty good breakfast.

I shall always cherish my tee shirt with the famous inscription, "The liver is evil...it must be punished."

In fact I think I may start punishing it right now.

We used to really enjoy the Black Dog when Tom O'hare owned it. On the other hand I really do not think much of Vicky (the current/maybe ex owner). She has had trouble before, what has happened this time?

Pretty sure Tom never owned the Black Dog. There was a period of his life when he worked ther but did not own it. Current problem seems to relate to the Federal regulators.

I thought Tom leased the black dog for a while but you never know what goes on in Pto. Penasco, He used to write a lot about the place when he worked (leased?) the place, I found kind of interesting at the time, was a regular for the fish fry on Fridays, Shrimp basket was not to shabby either.

I thought the fish fry's we great, but last time I was there was 8-10 years ago, stopped because the kid's were
complaining about most food here, now that they are young adults not as much compaining and will actually
eat fish now.:)

Lovin it in RP!
I heard (and this is purely rumor as I don't know) that the casinos are legal as long as the casino owner also owns the property where the casino is. If the building is rented from the owner than the casino is illegal and will be shut down. Why they were allowed a license to open as a casino is a question that I can't answer but who knows.......

Maybe the license was in the Palacios name Russ. I really don't know. I only know for absolute sure that the Palacios owned the Black Dog during Tom's tenure and before.

Adios, butt-tooting Black Dog! As many of you probably know, I was a big fan for years -- before they started gambling in there. As mentioned above, the Friday night fish fry was a favorite and on trips when it was too blown out to fish, it was a great place to catch a football game in the afternoon and throw back a few beers. Once they started putting in slot machines, it changed the whole character of the place and I stopped going. Haven't been in there since.
