Man I hope so. Lol. I had very high hopes for this trip.
If it stays pretty windy tomorrow I am going to hit the estuaries north of Cholla. Hopefully with the sandy bottom I wont be spending all my time re rigging hehe.

Better off going to La Pinta when the wind is blowing in April. North of Cholla is too exposed. Just head towards the Mayan Palace and a few miles past will be a gate with a house, turn off there and they will open the gate and then straight towards the estuary.

You can also go to the Mayan road, drive past the hotel ,veer left towards golf course and again at golf course maintenance building towards estuary. You will be driving along it on your left. Go to end of road and your at the mouth of the estuary. Great fishing .

You might get stopped by security at the Mayan. Just sayin, why waste a trip when La Pinta is so close.
Did not fish today. Wasted a good amount of time waiting for people to eat breakfast and so on. Went to pirate mermaid and bought a little table. Met Mexicoruss. Went exploring. Tomorrow I am going to try again. Ty all for all your input and suggestions.
It will be great info for anyone searching these forums for fishing info.
You guys are great.
FINALLY, SUCCESS! Sunday, end of Sandy beach right where the reef/rocks begin to go towards Bone beach. High tide and the wind was perfect. Nice casts into sandy wash areas and BOOM.
Caught a nice Pargo, then a nice sized trigger, broke the hook taking it out and sent my second line out. While trying to set up another hook ... fish on.
Caught 5 more fish before I could get the second line back out.
Threw back 5 more smaller triggers, and 3 smaller sand bass. Kept 2 for bait but ended up keeping 3 large triggers and the pargo for dinner.
Filleted and fried Trigger for sweet and sour, whole fried the Pargo and served with Veggie stir fried Noodle. Was awesome. Invited Steve over and had a great meal and conversation with him. Lucky he had some rice wine vinegar... forgot mine at home lol.
Thank you all for your tips and support.
Yeah the first time I caught trigger was on a ponga with lets say, used gear lol. And they were tough but I thought half the fight was the gear. But with my decent to nice gear I could really tell. Man they are fun.
The Pargo definatley felt different but was a lot of fun and just gorgeous when it came out.
I was so happy, it really made the trip. I had wanted to cook some fish that was fresh as fresh can get.
Thanks Doc.....look who a few years ago called the condo bubble, pollution problem as Las Conchas, the water issues, the coming gang war....that. would be me.....people that listened saved thousands of dollars......but cheer away Jim...I will most likely dance a somber jig on your grave....

Don't hold your breath, as there is a much better chance of Santo Tomas fading into oblivion than Rocky Point.

Out of the blue you give me a shot then reply with a comment that is off topic......must be that bad septic system water entering your brain from kayaking on turd beach....
Just fact man...people that listened to us condo bashers in 2008 saved hundreds of thousands of dollars.People that did not drive at night who knows......not sure what truth you are talking about but I warned multiple people away from beaches with poor septic systems because I used to build custom houses for twenty years and sort of know about the problems. If you just felt the need to mix it up today that is fine with me Mystery man.
Really windy today, 25- 30mph out of the SE.
The weather has been kind of cool this year, the forecast for RP Memorial weekend is mid 70's. I've never seen it that cool, ever for late May.
On my 1st trip to RP (Memorial Day mid 80's) it was 100 degrees with a 15-20mph wind blowing from the north.
The town was a dust bowl after 2 days of that.
Maybe it means that this summer will be nice in AZ and northern Mexico. We can only hope.

State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) recommended extreme caution for navigation on the coasts of Sonora by winds and waves that cause the passage of the cold front number 51 by the entity.
The director of the UEPC, Carlos Jesus Arias, said the cold front is in transit through northern Baja California and Sonora, associated with a low pressure trough located over the Gulf of California and the jet stream.
He noted that in some cases the winds reach 55 mph, mainly in the upper Gulf of California, off the Gulf of Santa Clara, off the coast of Puerto Peñasco and Caborca northwestern state.
The cold front cloudiness generate most of the company, with slightly higher at nine degrees centigrade, especially in the mountains and the municipalities of the US border minimum temperatures and east of the entity.
Moreover, Arias denied that the coast of Sonora this natural phenomenon known as swell, predicted to occur in the Pacific region in the coming hours.
"The swell is south of Sinaloa, in our case the surf is by the jet stream and cold front number 51, so the recommendation to the fishermen of small boats," he said.

I used to be the one that was constantly whining about the wind and not being able to find a break in the forecast to plan a trip. Been true April/May for the past several years. I've seen it be blowing like the dickens in Penasco and dead calm at the 51. But as a general rule, if it's blowing too hard to leave Penasco, it's only going to be worse 10 miles out.
That "Pargo" is really a Porgy. Totally different family. Pargo are Snappers, the Porgy is actually closer in relation to groupers/sea bass however they aren't one.
Yup very windy today. Can see the waters churning up a cloud underwater. Gonna take a nap maybe get a line in later.
Had a good run at high tide outside JJs yesterday.
Met a guy called Chino, older than me, with niece and nephews visiting. He lives in Cholla, but anyways I let the kids fish my gear. I caught 2-9" triggers and 8 sand bass between 8 and 12" and he kept them.
Wife caught a 12" long Ray, and the last fish I caught was a 14" Bullseye puffer. I was gonna throw it back but Chino wanted it. Says he knows how to prepare them. He was pretty happy to have that... Cool.
So we sent him and the kids off with a bucket of fish, was a good time and very nice group of people.
Being in the water near the shore kicked my wife's ass though. Lol.
I slipped a couple times and got a little beat up too. But a lot of fun.

YES! Thank you. Everyone here (in PP) said it was a Pargo but after looking it up it is clearly a Porgy.
Just got home after four days in PP. Managed to get out of the port just once, Saturday afternoon, for a little trollin up to Pelican Point. Ran the reef a few times, first hit was a eight pound Broomtail Grouper in sixteen feet of water! Got two good sized Sierra's and a dozen or so Spotted Bass. Saw several Eagle Rays jumpin six feet or more along the reef. Had a pod of ten Bottle Nosed Dolphins follow us all the way along Sandy Beach. Sea temp was 83 degrees. Lots of Sargasso paddies three or four miles out, should make for some good offshore Dodo action in a few weeks.
Sea conditions really sucked. The wind blowin chop one way and sets of six to eight foot swells from the other way. Max safe top speed at 7 mph for the run back to the port.
First bloody decks of the season on my little tuna boat.
That eve we had two thick garopa fillets breaded with that Kellogs Corn Flakes Empanizador and cooked in coconut oil that made for some good eatin.
Tonight the Sierra steaks will be in my mesquite filled smoker.
Talked to a guy at Safe Marina who said they were already getting Leopard Groupers off of the Homeport rocks. We couldn't get in that close due to the cresting swells.
We were out swimming on Saturday with the big waves when one hit me and knocked a lens out of my glasses. There was too much kelp to even hope to find it the next morning, but I did find someone's Prada's sun glasses.
I see you have what looks like Bouyweather. If not what?
If yes has it improved from several years back? I used to use it for several years and
quit as it was way off 90% of the time.

Wood Spinner, That was just a snip out of a screen from Weather Underground forecast.
I use the snipping tool in Windows 7- 10 to do that.
I find that WU isn't very accurate with forecasts either.
