BUYING TIRES LOCALLY

Being that almost all auto tires are made in China, I'm sure the same tires sell here in RP.
I've bought tires from Tire Discount for yrs. , and it seems like the over inflated mileage warranty and "service additions" (tire rotation. rebalancing new stems and flat service.) fall short of the extra dollars spent for same.

Looking for local experiences on the subject.

I have bought tires from German new and used. I think you will find that local prices are much higher than you might find elsewhere.

This has always been my experience also and in fact it is not uncommon for Mexicans to come up to Costco or Sam's in the US to buy tires.

Big O Tires sells Sailun Atrezzo tires that are made in China. Just bought a pair of 245/35ZR20 for $79 each. A lot of tire for the money. Not great quality, won't get a lot of miles out of them, but in the right circumstances they are great.
