Penasco Weather: What's the Most Accurate News Source?

For the life of me, I can't find the site I had bookmarked years ago on an old laptop that had ACCURATE temps for Penasco (not taken at Gila Bend!), along with water temp, wind, etc. Seems as though it was geared more towards boating enthusiasts. By the way, it’s not AccuWeather, Weather Underground or Weather.com.

Please post your favorite alternative Penasco weather source.

Thanks!

Go to my website and click on current weather or weather forcast. Current is in Playa LaJolla / Playa Encanto.

CASA WEEZ! Hahahah, I thought that was a joke! Just noticed that as an option yesterday. What is the story behind this weather station? (From Weather Underground.)

"Playa La Jolla, (Casa Weez), Puerto Penasco, SONORA — Current Conditions"
Terry C
He has a weather station there on top of his house. Note the software on the right side as you scroll down

Wow. That guy is my hero. Umm, is it someone on the board?
Terry C
No, just a home owner
GringoZona
OH, same guy who runs the Sat/Net Puerto Peñasco wi-fi/internet solutions business. NOPE, scratch that--that's just his ISP.
Terry C
No...he uses his system.

Really can't say who it is without his permission
GringoZona
That's cool. No biggie.

Now, where do I find water temp? I remember it being reported like twice a day...

www.wunderground.com is the most accurate source for RP weather. I also have posted the majority of the pictures for the area. Good choice!!

Casa Weez has been down the last few days, it's just been going to the default airport Penasco station. Maybe he's outta' town.

Does anyone have a good source for water conditions? I know I used to read a site that had daily water temperature readings.

Hi,

Apologies for digging up an ancient thread... but I believe the site the original poster was thinking of was from CEDO:
http://www.cedointercultural.org/content/view/81/78/lang,en/
http://www.cedointercultural.org/Current_Monitor_original.htm

Unfortunately, it has been down for some time, despite the statement saying that it is back up (must have been from a previous outage). The Water Temperature reading is also from July. I get the impression that it was a manual reading.

The "Casa Weez" site appears to be very well sited (winds don't appear to be blocked), and highly reliable. Sometimes these personal weather station feeds tend to come and go. It does a good job of picking up on "Gulf Surge" events which southern Arizonans are probably all familiar with.

It would be even better if the station owner could also send his data to the "Citizen Weather Observer Program" ... this would allow his data to be fed into a stream which is picked up by Universities and National Weather Service offices. The observation would also get fed into sites like MesoWest, and fill an important data void area:

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/slc/gmap2/gmap.php?zoom=8&extents=30.363396,-116.196899,33.623768,-110.209351&density=3

The "Station Information" on the Weather Underground page indicates they're using the Virtual Weather Station software, which I believe includes a free software add-on that allows the data to be sent to both Weather Underground and APRS/CWOP.

Someone on here hinted that they know the 'Casa Weez' homeowner. Would they be interested in relaying this message to them? If you contact me via PM, I can send you my email address, and perhaps even try to help them out.
