We just returned from a quick trip to Penasco, and were surprised by the nice temperatures. At 12:00 on Sunday, it was about 90 degrees with a beautiful breeze, high tides, and there were no jelly fish. I was in Florida the past few weeks, and Penasco felt much nicer- less humid, with out worry of a shark attack!

Nice to hear you had a good time.

The only difference between Florida and RP this time of the year is the difference in how fast the sweat drips of your head, in RP it flows hard, in Florida it gushes.

If there is a decent breeze it's not bad, either place but when the wind dies for days on end in RP, like it does so often in Aug/Sept it is pretty brutal.

Waiting on October. Only 8 1/2 more weeks, sure hope the Boomerfest doesn't mess up my week there.

We were there during that time . . . almost chilly in the nighttime breeze under the supermoon . . . glass of wine . . . chairs in the sand . . . no one in sight . . . . distant lightening providing a light show . . . amazing . . .

Russ, Thx for posting. Tony's pic's are great. Angry looking clouds and nice shots of the lightning.
Love summer storms in RP.

It rained like crazy at my house in the hood last night, so loud it woke us up but man with the lightening and rain my plants are super happy

Well I don't know about posting this kind of stuff here. It makes Penasco look like a dangerous place for tourists to be what with all the lightening. I mean a tourist could easily get fried. I mean imagine being up on Whale hill when that bolt struck !!

I've seen plenty of "Fried" tourists in RP and not on Whale Hill.
