What Is It About This Place?

What is it about this place, and am I the only one that feels this way? We've been down here for 10 days now and honestly, I have never felt better. I realize that I'm on vacation, so there's no work stress, the daily grind, etc. But what I'm talking about is a different feeling. I've been drinking beer almost every day, I've been eating exactly what I want and I've lost 5 pounds! I don't have that sick, bloated, poisoned feeling that I have in the US. Is it because the air is fresh - the food is fresh and without all the damn preservatives and chemicals? Is it something in the air? Obviously the water is different. I actually feel clean after a shower, my hair isn't dry as straw - less soap and shampoo is needed, and my skin looks better!
Is it all in my mind or do others feel this way too????????
GV Jack
I vote for the beer, Melissa.
mis2810
Even doing laundry is better! The clothes come out of the dryer softer and less wrinkled!!!!
Southbeacher
You are definitely exhibiting symptoms of a common condition. Many others experience the same phenomenon, and the only treatment is to decrease your vitamin D intake (i.e., get out of the sun), avoid any alcohol, and go back to the rat race up north.

MIRAMAR

Bill Sisson a old time Cholla Bay guy that my neighbor at Santo Tomas is sort a viking mystic. He is always down by tide line on crazy days like this soaking up the excess ions...me just boogie boarding..fun today!

My prognosis is my attitude shows symptoms that may include
Acute levity,
Frequent drowsiness,
And a chronic cheery mood

It’s un-insurable, incurable, but delightfully endurable

Honey, you got you a chronic case of Méxicosis
El Gato
We lived there full time and never felt better. Part of it, I think, is the food. Pure sugar - not as much of it - not as much packaged foods - tons of avocados because they are soooo good and so inexpensive compared to the States. You tend to walk more. You interact with people - we never went anywhere that either we didn't run into someone we knew - almost always - and/or meet someone new - so smiles always on our faces. And a smile a day keeps the doctor away.

Relax and enjoy and know that you are doing your body/mind good. And even science agrees with you that living by the sea is actually better for your health.

I totally agree. I have a slight sinus condition and while I was there for CM, I noticed that it did not bother me once and I don't even remember sneezing.
Luna
I could not agree more! Whenever we go, and not as often as we would like to. We are south of the border and completely disconnect from everything up north experiencing a complete change in attitude. We sleep in, watch dolphins, take long walks, take naps, cocktails and sunsets, and just being with each other in every sense of the word ;)!
Wood Spinner
You got that right. You are now a certified Gringo Mexican.
Now that we are retired it is Rocky Point in the Winter and Shlow Low AZ. in the Summer.
My wife does not handle the heat well or we would be full time.
You mentioned the Avocados but try eating Papuya every day. They are great for your Kidneys.
I have some Kidney failure and when we are down for the Winter they inprove in function. From as low as 24% to a high of 41 %
Welcome to the good life and hope to meet you next winter.
We are in Plya De Oro # 50 most of the Winter. Stop by

Glad you brought that up. I was hesitant to mention it. I have seen them 2 times in RP in the last 2 years. I definitely notice a pattern in Phoenix of feeling pretty awful the 2 days immediately after the "spraying" begins. A lot more people are starting to notice it lately too.

Here's the best argument I have against chemtrails:

The US military has the technology to prevent contrails. Engine modifications, fuel additives, altitude adjusting autopilot linked with humidity sensors, and ultrasonic pulse generators are all routinely used to inhibit cloud formation in an aircraft's wake. Without it, all the stealth technology in the world would be entirely useless since a stealth jet's contrail would be a giant white arrow across the sky that points out exactly where it is and exactly where it came from.

If the military was actually for some reason dumping chemicals into the atmosphere it would be incredibly simple for them to render it invisible to the naked eye. If chemtrails were real, you wouldn't be able to see them.

The government doesn't care if we see them or not. How long has it taken for even a fraction of people to admit that they might even exist? We're all just a bunch of sheeple, following the herd, going about our daily business. Even now that some people believe they are chemtrails, what are we going to do about it? Nothing. What can we do about it? Nothing.
jerry
Get that tinfoil on...we could have a pretty good conspiracy party one day. Funny, people worry about this fairy ale but question global warming ....
mis2810
Love a good conspiracy theory! HAARP, 9/11, Illuminati - good stuff!!!

Easily explainable. Northern sea of cortez and the coastline have very high humidity and airborne salinity levels.

I get why that would affect skin and hair, but what does it have to do with losing weight and feeling healthier?

Non-fat Pina Colada and Margaritas. :p

The sea waves have been known to cause aphrodisiac sensations, how do you concoct No-fat drinks?
The Man
They are useing alumemum micro bots in the contrals now.....they settle down and they break the blood/ brain barrier.....twice in the early mornings here lately noticed those dam jets releaseing those trails.....stright lines..then the wind spreads then out and it looks like clouds. Perfact blue skys they turn into cloudy skys....
Those contrals don't disapear, they spread out like clouds. Make a great
Rocky Point clear blue sky, cloudy!
Then at same time in the early morning, I watched the passerger jets in their fly lanes and their contrails disapear in a few minutes.
Why here???????? I really think thats what is screwing the US weather up, not earth warming. They say the polor ice has increased, so them trying to cool the earth that is in a cooling state, is being cooled more! Gov always gets its hands on something, and it screws it up worst. Oh well who beleaves in gobal warming...??? Then nice clouds!
Kenny
Way to many take it when they don't need it and the one's who do, don't!

Describe the sound made when a sheep with a tin foil hat explodes. Sis boom bah.
The Man
Waist of time putting tin foil on ya head or the poor sheep's head before he expoldes, or on that certain part of the male that hangs low, cause when that stuff the gov puts in the comtarils (the alum micro bots) settle, it finally starts to come down to the earth and we breath them in.......gets into blood, then the alum bots gets to our brain.

So heavy margareta's and Mex beer is the only RX, is all us serfs can do to fight this gov cospiracy, if any non sayers are out ther!

Gov is doing that to cool the earth as they want the sun to reflect up, but true recorts show the earth cooled somewhat over a peroid of time!

This I think all boils down to who is stronger in congress....the Dem are in control....they say there is global warming! So there is golal warming So they want cap and trade, and chemtrails to cool the earth. Now the Repub, are not in power, and they say no cap and trade, and no chemtrails!! ,,,,but they lose!

So for now we have a screwed up government....so thats it in a nut shell!!!

Rejack, I love the ability to work from 5:00 am to about 11:00 am, stop for the day. Launch the Jetski at Cholla bay, ride for a few hours.....wind up in the malecon for drinks and dinner. Enjoyed a full day of activities and spent less than 40 bux including the gas for the Jetski. Come back home in the hood totally relaxed and a new attitude to conquer the small things I have to do around the casa

I drank my share of tequila Friday, it just seems like you recover faster. Maybe its just that I start drinking again quicker in Penasco.
Yes the Mirador used to be the place to be and now is non-existant. Except the Pink Cadillac's music playing till 4am kept me awake and angry all night..
The Man
I"m getting all confused about " What about this place" its making my head spin...
Not that it does all the time! So I had to go to the Tequila Factory ant buy me a big
Barrel of tequila to deal with this place! Actually will hide it so it ages.......
That aged tequila will rid the micro bots out of my brain, as both end up there!

So what about this place? Must be to good for words for that we keep putting up with stuff like the gov border stuff.....and keep comming back! Funny tho, OB opened up the gates for thousands, (non US ciz) and we go thru hell at the border going north.
Most of us bring nothing, comparded to what they let come across now! Glad I not working for them, my diper days are over with! Its RP time now.

Now, what is our topic again?????? Russ, my friend, help me here! To much barrel tequila! Ha or ja ja!

I think the nice thing about vacationing in Northern Sonora is the warmth of the people.Screwed by their bosses, unions, leaders and police they seem to have a deep well of grace in a bad spot. The number of times I have been helped out with nothing demanded in return is uncounted.
The Man
:):):)Kenny..I am going to get off this imm topic quick, but all those kids are being coached on what to say after they get here! They found the cheat sheets?

Anyway, this place called Rocky Point, getting back to topic, for all topic lovers,
has so much to offer, I really know we all who found the place, are really really lucky!
The people who are to scared to come down, its their loss, my dauther and family for one, their loss.

Now, a plug for 'old Russ! And the Russ Bus... So was my wife. But back in the mid to late '90 when Russ and his wife ran their Rocky Point RV caravan club, they invited my wife and me to join the pack! Lots of thought to bring the RV down, but we did!

Darn old Russ.....changed our life foreger, this place had everything, thats why we all come back and back! And came and crash here........for our own reasons.
Told the boss a few choice words, sold the rentals, now building a house here!

Oh, got to say, the Mexicans we know, don't know, all the workers we came in contack with, seem to be really great people..yes even the ones that want to wash windshields, beg for a few $, which we always keep a pile of change in the car, but
I would do the same if I was in their position. To my Mexican neighbors who always there to help without asking for anything in return, there when we are sick, watch the house when we are up north...come and water the plants...
To sitting just befofe sunset having a beer or margarita over looking the Sea of Cortez,
the fishing, a host of stuff to much to mention......

Thats "What it is about this place"
