This morning I saw a snake outside my house in Cholla. Only saw the tail end as he was scurrying into a bush to hide. Probably around 3 feet long and maybe an inch in diameter. It was tan and didn't have any rings, stripes, rattles or anything. First time I ever saw a snake in Cholla or Rocky Point. Any idea on what kind of snake it could be.

Might find a photo here to ID it.

maybe a gopher snake.
El Gato
Gopher snakes are really good guys to have around - they keep the rodent population down and they also keep Rattlers away. I don't like snakes (our boys do which is why I learned a lot about snakes while they were growing up. Actually even now! We have a Black Rat snake living near our garage in TN and Bill and son have named him 'Blackie' - as long as he keeps the mice out of the garage and house he is welcome to stay. Knowing El Gato, George, he would be more inclined to make a pet of any mouse that ventured inside.
