Does anyone know if the back road to bypass downtown Sonoyta (Avenida 16 de Septiembre on Google Maps) has been repaired? I took it Memorial Day weekend and it was like driving on the lunar landscape.

Why not just go over the bridge and through town? Is the backroad really that much shorter even if the roads were fixed?
Hobie Vern
It used to be better, until they shut the bridge down, then all the trucks started using it and messed it all up. Now they have added stop signs also.

Seemed ok to me on Saturday

Through town is all stop and go, the back road was faster and less frustrating. BUT with the poor road condition and the 2 additional stop signs, it's probably about the same now.

It really is not bad,if you get behind a truck blast by at the speed bumps

How true. At least it didn't go on my record or cost me a defensive driving class. So, as far as I'm concerned I'm still ticket free! lol
