Checkpoints after crossing into Mexico?

I've not been in the states since mid-2009 nor in PP. Before that, "going down", I don't remember any checkpoints after crossing into Rocky Point, other than the dreaded red light at the border. Where are these at? I've recently returned to AZ and planning a family trip next month. Thanks for the help.

There is only one military checkpoint right before the turnoff to go to Caborca as you come into PP.

We came through Saturday and were stopped at one. He said, "car.... get out". After doing a quick look through he asked if we had any fish or alcohol. We said no and he said have a nice day. No problems.
