Did not drive over to view but there was the familiar continuous sound of high revving small engines coming from the large filled in estuary between the Mirador and Las. Conchas. The city apparently controls the land and there have been sand drags hosted there. The entrance is the street next to Bryans and is very busy when the races are on. Sounds to me like there is a track for racing ATVs and or cycles too. I'll try to check it out.
There's a SADR offroad race today. Offroad trucks and buggies racing 250 miles thru the desert. The start was in front of Las Conchas and the finish and main pits is behind the Sandy Beach condos
Yeah we watched the launch of the race from the Shrimp Park today a the Mermaids Market. They launched a car every 30 seconds there were a lot. I have another thread that has pics available on FB. If they can't be seen without a FB sign up them I will post some here, it was cool!
