Wow, what a lucky shot (or maybe a great professional one) . Wonder how long the lens was to get that close.
That one definately needs to be incorporated into the city marketing program and should appear evrywhere.

Isn't it too low of an angle to be from Capitan? If it's really from Penasco, I wish a landmark like Comp. Hill or the Sandy Beach resorts were in it.

I the angle of view is rather flat, I agree, hence the question about the length of the lens.
It does like it was taken at water level, but I know the person that sent it to me and I assume it is a real pic.
That picture was taken by a friend of mine off of a boat, not from the patio of el capitan. It is very real. There is a whole series of shots from that day. The person who is posting this on Facebook and other places is not giving credit where credit is due.
Good to know that it's real. Can you get some more from the series of shots that were taken and post them? Would love to see them.

Go to www.facebook.com/rockypointmexicofishing. There are quite a few taken over the last 2 weeks. The most dramatic from 2 days ago when they breached big time.
I will try to post some here when I get on my computer (vs iPad ) and I find a little time today

Okay, I'm confused. Is this for real, or not? I went to the Facebook page, what's the story with the whale crashing into the boat. That did NOT happen in RP.

They were Roberto. I had my boat out last week and got some shots myself. This latest round came from my friend Gillie mentioned earlier in the thread who went out on The Gato Loco twice in the last few days.
The panga/whale collision was nearby penasco as well ?

We were on the sailboat Gato Loco about a mile off Whale hill. Spent 4 hrs. with them. Breached several times, feeding....Saw it all! Many more incredible pics. with condos/Sandy beach in background. Great place to spot-Del Capitan restaurant on top of Whale Hill.
All safe. The ponga put a shallow slice in the side of the whale. Got that pic with many more incredible shots.

Chollabill, please post as many as you can, on the Forum or your FB page. They're gaining a bit of viral-ness as some of us re-post them (with proper credit, please, people). It's only good for Penasco...besides being incredibly bitchin'.
