Fishing getting better

I was out on the Ski on Thur and Sat. I went up to Pelican and fished off the point to about a mile out. Did well and some very nice sized fish. Typical Rock Fish and Trigger Fish. Wish I had a camera as I caught something that had rely big bug eyes set on top and a mouth you could have put a small orange in. It was about 6 in long and a 3 in mouth.
The more I fish off the ski the more I like it. 10 min to Pelican and almost no gas.

HAH... you didn't need a camera Bill. Your description could only be one thing...

I have caught a few of the bug eye fish you described around Pelican Point over the years. Everyone I know calls them Big Mouth Bastards. I don't think that is the official name though.

No the one I caught had huge eyes on top of the head that protruded from the skull.

Not even close! fish 6 in long Mouth Dia. = about 3 in Eyes Diam of third finger tip and extended from the head almost 1/2 in.
