Is the FMM requirement still waived for vacation/tourist travel within the 'Free Zone' of Puerto Peñasco/Sonoyta?

Thank you.

You will not be asked to show an FMM in Puerto Penasco.

The only time you will need a FMM is ( formally known as a FMT )

Buying a house or lot for closing with the Notario and your Realtor agent. We did and it was a very easy thing to do at the border. Very nice people at the border

Or if you stay more than 72 hours in Mexico. This has been talked about alot on here. Some do and some don't. The FMM is good for 180 days.

Thanks Russ. We're visiting RP again next month and wanted to ensure we're still OK not stopping to get an entry permit when we cross at Sonoyta.

My understanding they are open the same hours as the border (although I don't think I would leave it to midnight to arrive) - 6 am to midnight.
