Camino a la Cholla - Water Truck

When we stayed at The Reef RV Park last June a water truck would spray/soak Camino a la Cholla from where the pavement ends to the stop sign. We had never noticed this before. Is it something recent? Do they do this every day? If so, what time of day do they spray water? I ask because it spreads a moist sand mixture all over the tow vehicle and travel trailer and is difficult to clean off. We're going to The Reef later this month & would prefer to avoid driving on the road until it dries up.

Thanks!

It happens very often with much regularity. It is a price to pay for less dust in the air. As a frequent traveler on that road....I know that I must wash my vehicles more often.. I am ok with that!

You might want to know that they use salt water. It will rust your car out very fast.

When I get back from RP I always go to the do-it-yourself car wash and pressure wash the underside of my vehicles. I have seen the damage the salt water causes and don't want to go there again! This includes ATV's, trailers. etc.

Even without road watering the salt air can take a toll on things over the years. Like landshark,,,,been there done that.

When I had a 5th wheel I stored it at the Reef storage lot to save towing each time I came down. In three months time I noticed rust on the frame and the aluminum fins on the air conditioning were corroding, very common with the salty air. I was not ok with it and preferred to avoid any further damage so I no longer stored long term.

I had a feeling it was salt water and that's what bothers me most. Would the Cholla road that cuts across from the Sandy Beach Realtors offices to the Bay be an alternative? I've never driven that route before.

That road in not maintained. I drive it in my truck but it's pretty rough. They have made many attemps to block the road from being used.
