So now we are going to compare 1 individual psycho with a .45 caliber pistol to thousands of sick cartel members with auto matic weapons? Come on people, this is getting ridiculous. Let's not bring every example of a shooting by an individual in the US and attempt to compare it to the civil war that's going on in Mexico. Will this stop tourists from going to NYC now? Of course not. Not any more than anything is stopping me from going to RP. YET!
To both of you AZ Miguel and Mondone - Yes, it has everything to do with Peñasco! There are shootings everyday by people all over the US - crazy or not - criminals or not. Three shootings in Peñasco in the last year and everyone goes insane saying how it's too dangerous to go to RP.
Did it ever occur to either one of you that there are many lurkers on this forum and not just posters? Lurkers who come here to read and get information only? Just trying to put things in perspective that **** happens everywhere and that anyone can get shot and killed anywhere, anytime.

Miguel - no prescription drugs in my house!
If you visit the Mexican consulate before traveling to the U.S., they have official notices about the dangers of travel to the United States. The last notice I read (several years ago) mentioned Chicago, New Orleans, Miami and New York. I also read a similar notice issued by the State Department posted in an area where they issue visas to Mexican citizens in Monterrey. The Mexican government and several non-profits pass out information to those who intend to cross illegally regarding the dangers of the journey and how doing so may subject themselves to criminal acts. Watching the news after all of these events in the U.S. I always see plenty of government officials (mayors, chief of police, etc.) advising citizens to be vigilant and to avoid bad areas, etc.
The notices about travel to Mexico are not a one-way street, it seems as though you don't want to acknowledge this.
Until i see Americans with bullet holes in their pasty white skin..spilled Corona next to the corpse-on-a-lounge chair-at-the-beach I just am not sweating it..same deal with Chi-town..don't buy crack and it is all good

Nor is it stopping me from going home to NY in 2 weeks!
From about eight feet away, the officers confronted Mr. Johnson and when he pulled out his gun, they opened fire, shooting a total of 16 rounds. Mr. Johnson was killed and nine bystanders were wounded, perhaps all by police bullets. So all you "if only I was there and had a gun" crowd...this is what happens with trained gunmen

NYPD??? I haven't laughed so hard in years!!
The average concealed carry owner spends about 25x more time at the shooting range than a NYPD officer, who only has to qualify once a year from about 25 ft. Gimme a break.
fighting in the gym is way different than fighting in the real world...you should keep that in mind..i do Same goes with rightwing plinkers..

You were never in the service, commie pinko rat fink. Do you know why you practice the same maneuvers over and over and over again? Simple. You fight like you train. And that saying appears in every ready room of every carrier I've ever been on. It becomes instinctive, you react, you don't think about it, and you hit your target. Has nothing at all to do with "left-wing" or "right-wing." But to you, EVERYTHING has a political bent.
You're awful damn quick to run your mouth about stuff you know NOTHING about! The cops in NY screwed up. Unloading that many rounds into a crowded area, creating that many civilian casualties, speaks volumes about their lack of training and ability to handle a firearm.
Take that to the gym.
Kenny - The only thing hilarious was Jerry's remarks. I don't think anybody getting shot is funny.
