Came down last night hit a military check point at the turn off to the Myan and Laguna Shores. Short wait, no big deal. It was nice to see that if you were a criminal you may be intimidated by the fire power but again maybe not. However nice to see security maybe it will make people feel more secure about coming down.
I got stopped there earlier this year. They told me to get out so they could search the truck. As he looked under the driver's seat he tensed up and gasped, then gave me a look that scared the cr@p out of me. He pulled out a pack of AA batteries that was wrapped in plastic & looked like ammunition. After he saw what they were, he settled down and gave me a grin and said sorry. Too late!
Ran into a federal police check point at the rest stop North of Lobos on a no moon night two weeks ago.....strobe lights blinding us,really bad assed guys with crap attitudes....hated it...never ran into such bad treatment before..don't .travel at night I guess...
Jerry you are one crazy dude, to drive that part at night. The mota train travels on those nights
Well I guess you can put Don and I in that same boat Leigh. We came in after dark last year and the two truck loads of who ever they were, solders we think, who'd passed us on the road right before the turn in, came by us again just as we were stopped by your place. They obviously were the good guy's, but still.:-?
