Has anyone heard what types of movies they will be showing. Or what prices will be like? I had heard that movies in other parts of Mexico, i.e. Cancun area, were very inexpensive, as were popcorn, drinks, etc.

Does it still look like it will open by April 15?

Tks.

Does anyone remember the University Dollar Theater on Broadway Rd in Tempe? I would love to see something like that in PP.

:popcorn:Really DOLLAR theater.. wow were they talkies ,,, how about in Color?
Ladyjeeper
Very funny, Rob.....I remember that theater before it was a dollar theater. That's how old I am.....

I hope they don't invest too much into a theater. I personally would not spend much if any time there. I rarely go to the movies here and if I'm in PP, there are other things I'd rather be doing :coldone: :gofishing:

I suppose if I lived there, maybe once a month I'd go.

The company building the theater has one in Torreon that I have been to a few times. They do not have the VIP theater like Cinemex or Cinepolis so I did not go to their chain often. Assuming prices are the same, they are about $35.00-$50.00 pesos for a standard movie (based on time of day), $60.00-$70.00 pesos for 3-D and $80.00 pesos for the VIP or Platinum level theater (40 seats per theater with reclining seats, tables and waiter service).

Thank you - sounds like fun. We have given up on movies in the States - way too expensive, really loud and I always freeze to death!

I go by the movie complex almost every day and not much, if any, progress appears to have happened in the last two weeks. Does anyone have any inside info?

This seems to be just anonther start only project. It is such a shame that they allow so many projects to start and do not force completion. With the history of this problem you would think the city would require completion by a completion date or that the builder forfit the project to the city so they could resell it for completion by another builder and set a completion date fot the new buyer. If they sold it for about 1/2 of its value they would make money and could get it sold and completed. Or they could just auction it off with a completion date.

There has to be a workable way to get the jobs done.
