This is a huge event for Penasco and for RCPM they are advertising the concert at every venue they play up until Circus Mexicus. They are Penascos best ambassadors right now and we love it!

Not sure how long it was there but more than one year. It was next to that upstairs bar across the street by Penasco del Sol... or maybe it was Plaza Las Glorias back then.

Hola, New poster I am tho I've lurked for awhile. Saw this thread as a good place to enter in. We come down half dozen times a year and the Circus is one of them. The change from Changos out to the Reef makes me curious. What do you guys who see the tide roll in and out everyday think high tide will do for the show? One chart I've seen shows a 12 1/2 ft rise at about 6:15pm. wouldnt this put it up pretty close to the stage? should I bring my dinghy?
DryHeatNative
I didn't even know they moved it again. Why no more Changos? And is this the first year it's at The Reef?

A note from RCPM Organization

Peacemakers,

The beauty of rock-n-roll is that it's never stagnant. Most times you just have to go with the flow.

We're excited to announce this year's Circus Mexicus fiesta is being moved down the road just a little bit to Wrecked at the Reef. The concert is going to be right on the beach next to the Sea of Cortez!

All wristbands and VIP packages that have already been purchased will remain the same. In fact, EVERYTHING else you've come to expect from Circus Mexicus will stay the same: The stage is the same. There will still be plenty of space on the sand to bring a lawn chair and get a little elbow room. There will still be a VIP area.

The ONLY difference this year is we're moving the stage less than a mile down the road to Wrecked at the Reef.

The Rock and Soccer Tournament will also still be held that morning at Wrecked, it will just be pushed a little to the west of last year's tournament while crews set up for the concert that night.

RCPM would like to thank Chango's for hosting Circus Mexicus for the past three years. We all have some incredible memories that will stay with us the rest of our lives. Fans can still stop by Chango's, grab a cerveza and say 'Hola!' before heading over to Wrecked for the concert.

Those who went to Roger Solo en Mexico in January raved about the recently renovated bar. The staff at Wrecked is anxious to host their first Circus Mexicus!

We're excited for CMXXI presented by Wrecked at the Reef and Mexican Moonshine Tequila on June 9! Fans will not want to miss the chance to celebrate life through rock-n-roll under the stars right on the beach next to the Sea of Cortez.

Go With the Flow,
RCPM

A little better traffic control and fewer "freebies" from off the road???
AZ ROB
looks like a good time to bring the boat and float out in the water watching the free concert...
Roberto
How about some floating stadium seating !! Charge for the seats and sell beer too!

The problem with that Roberto is that high tide is just before the show starts so a floating platform makes you go further away from the stage as the night wears on!

Looks like its going to be a cramped show. I love the idea of it being by the water and close to a good bar but it looks cramped.

The VIP area in the middle of the audience area should be taken out and the only VIP area should be upstairs at Mare Blu.

You will love this venue
all the way! No cramps

We're VIP and upstairs or in the middle is fine, tho we'll probably be upfront anyway... which leads me back to my first post unanswered question..where's that high tide line gonna end up?

It is a mid tide it will be fine, should still be room for 4500 people or so to see the concert which is fine!

We have seen RCPM at the open fields next to Sunset cantina and Changos. Those were bigger lots than the Reef beach front and they were pretty packed. I don't think the VIP area in the middle section will last long during the concert. Either way we will have a blast!
hammockpilot
I remember the Sunset shows being packed..(especially the lines to the banos and beer), Changos seemed huge in comparison. I've been on the patio at the Reef at high tide and the beach seems pretty small for the crowd RCPM brings. I spoke with Roger Clyne in Prescott Saturday about it, he said they expected a 15ft tide and they were kinda concerned. Not worried about getting wet. But i'd hate to see all the beer float out to sea..

The latest from the RCPM crew

Peacemakers,

Happy May Day! We're under 40 days away from Circus Mexicus XXI! We all have lists of things to do to prepare. In an effort to help, here is a snapshot of options you have. Hopefully one or more will help!

How to travel
1. Supporting Fry's Food Stores in Tucson and Phoenix will have savings on gas. Stay tuned for details. We’ll have AM and PM caravan departure times on Friday June 8th for those wanting company on the road from West and East Phoenix as well as Tucson Fry's. In the meantime, be using your Fry’s VIP card to save money and accumulate points for up to $1 per gallon discounts on gas!
2. Don’t want to drive and would rather party on a luxury bus? Contact Peñasco Recreation’s Russ Black at[email protected] for details. He already has Peacemakers committed in both Phoenix and Tucson.
3. If you have car trouble between the border and Rocky Point, don’t panic. There is a locally sponsored group called the Green Angels driving green pickups that will stop and help you. They are bilingual mechanics that patrol the main highways and provide emergency roadside assistance. Their toll free number in Mexico only is 91-800-903-0092.
4. Leave the driving to someone else and check out Head Out to Rocky Point, Head Out To Rocky Point - Your full Service Charter & Shuttle Service to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco), Mexico on the Sea of Cortez!,
5. Pick up Mexico Auto Insurance from www.ammexinsurance.com.

Where to stay
1. Go to www.rprmexico.com and click on the Circus Mexicus banner for information on beachfront condos at the Sonoran Sea and Spa including discount codes.
2. Go to www.rvrentaloutlet.com if renting an RV and staying at The Reef RV park is more your style. They have several models and price points to choose from. www.thereefrvpark.com has full electricity, is beachfront and next door to Wrecked At the Reef.
3. Want to camp on the beach? Contact www.thereefrvpark.com and get details on their inexpensive Sandy Beach campground also next door to Wrecked At the Reef.

How to buy tickets
1. Go to www.peacetimegoods.com to buy tickets now! Cobre and Plata tickets are still available but the Plata package that includes the Friday night show at JJ’s with Sons Of Bill and Jim Dalton (as well as Saturday's RCPM show) is going fast. Once you buy your tickets online, pick up your tickets at Will Call Thursday (at Wrecked), Friday (at Wrecked followed by JJ’s) or Saturday (at Wrecked).
2. The RCPM Facebook page, www.facebook.com/rogerclyne, is also running two contests to win Plata tickets. Check out the Facebook page for contest details.
3. Tickets for PH's Hot Dog & A Smile Charity BBQ with Sons of Bill and Jim Dalton will have tickets at the door for $10, while supplies last. Friday night at JJ's will likely sell out, so your best bet may be to get a Plata ticket early!

What to bring
1. Bring household items like soap, shampoo and canned food to JJ’s Friday night for PH’s Hot Dog and a Smile to benefit the local children’s home.2. Bring a beach chair if you want to relax and enjoy 4+ hours of rock n roll on the beach Saturday night.3. Bring water and stay hydrated especially if you’re playing soccer Saturday.

New for this year
1. Wrecked At the Reef will host their first ever Circus Mexicus on the beach!2. No matter what ticket package you purchase, make sure you wear your wristband all weekend and receive special offers from bars and restaurants all over Rocky Point. At Will Call you’ll receive a map of participating businesses. Save a few minutes over the weekend to see what all of Rocky Point has to offer!

Last, but not least…
1. If you’re grocery shopping in AZ before you leave, get your Mexican Moonshine Tequila at stores like Fry’s, Bevmo, Total Wine, Basha’s, AJ’s, Tops and Sun Devil Liquors.2. If not and you want to buy our Mexican issued bottles, stop by Vasquez Liquores in Sonoyta (border), Choya Bay Minimart (on way to JJ’s) or Tequila Factory (Calle 13 and Juarez Blvd) in Rocky Point.3. You are allowed to bring back one bottle of liquor per person 21+ per vehicle.
