CFE Website. How do I check my bill and do other things?

I went to the CFE Website and cannot figure, for the life of me, how to check past bills, current balances, etc.

I have an account set up but anytime I go to "Check Receipt" or "Online Services," nothing useful appears.

Can somebody please walk us through how to become proficient on the CFE Website? It would be wonderful if we could check our bills, balances and make payments from the U.S.

I hate going to CFE and standing in line with a handful of Pesos, getting my bill and having no idea what it says.

Help?

I go to the cfe website below and sign in at the green box at the top right of the screen, user name & password, then click "entrar". It takes you to a summary of your account screen where you need to click on the little box under "recibo." It takes you to a screen with your bill displayed. If you need help understanding your bill, the rockypointassist link below has a pdf file that will help you. Hope this helps!

Thankis Shark but I still can't find the "recibo." I got signed in, but can't locate my bill anywhere. Help!
reportjones
I do get to "My Account" "Check your Receipt," but there are no receipts listed. There are boxes for "current," "paid" and "expired, but no bills can be located.

Help!

If the main thing is paying the bill in person at CFE and you dont want to you can pay your TelMex, TelCel, CFE and other bills at OXXO stores I do it all the tie it saves me a lot of driving around and I can get snacks at the same time
playaperro
can you repeat that.
reportjones
I don't receive a bill and then pay it since I am not down too often. I keep credit on my account and add to it when it gets low. If I go to OXXO stores, can they give me a receipt showing my balance? Will I be able to add credit to my account at OXXO?

I am pulling my hair out with frustration right now!

I registered online with CFE last year with a username. I have never been able to view any bills, balances, etc., from this account. I am not sure I knew my Service Number when I made this account so this may be why I cannot view any bills.

I re-registered under a different username today but everytime I log on under this username, it defaults back to my original username registered last year. Because of this, I still cannot access my bills online.

Does anyone know how to delete these two username accounts and start all over? I want to be very careful and make sure that when I delete these usernames that I don't delete my original account and have my electricity shut off.

Help!

Since I don't get down more than 8 times a year, Can I pay CFE, say $200 and have them deduct your bill amount and have a running credit with them if you have small bills every 2 months?
I don't spend more than $125 per year foe power and have been paying $55 a year to have someone pay it for me. What irk's me is being taken advantage of because I get a 9.5 peso exchange rate.
The amount is $2-3 every time, not a biggie, but the principal of it.
Terry C
Yes, just give them the amount of Pesos you want to pay and tell them to credit the rest. They print a reciept that shows the credit. Then look at the bills on the CFE website to check it.

Thanks to all. You have been real helpful.

I can log in and get my current CFE bill. Is there a place to find previous bills?

On TelMex, I can find my current amount due & previous 1 bill. Is there is a way to see the older bills?
Thanks

reportjones this is what I did and worked for me
1- go to http://www.cfe.gob.mx , on the top right corner of the main page for CFE you will find the word "english" click on it and it will turn the website to english, if the steps to follow are different in english then go back to spanish and follow them
2-log in with the original account that you open first.
3- once logged in click in "consulat tu recibo" once in that page right above the "Leyenda: Vigente Pagado Vencido" you will find "agregar o eliminar un servicio" click in that "agregar o....."
4- in the new screen at the bottom of the box will ask for "Nombre" enter the name, located in the top left corner of your bill, as it appears in the bill and I mean exactly and below enter the "numero de servicio" located in the top right corner of your bill, then click "Nuevo"

Now, all that will save your service point, you can have up to five service points/meters per bill, once you have save a service point then you will be able to view all the history on it since you started the service, hope that helped you.
good luck

I am registered. At least I assume I am since I can log in and see my current bill. I just can't find where to get to the older bills.

How do you get to the older ones?
Thanks

INKAROADS: It worked! I love you! You are da man!

Now, is there anything that can help me translate what my bill says?

I am mostly interested in: 1) How much my last bill was, 2) How much credit is remaining.

Thanks again!

Better yet...does anyone have a copy of a CFE bill with translations in the different columns so we can understand what it says???
Terry C
Just figure the excahang rate close enuff and divide the pesos by it and you get US $. I know 10-1 is off but gives you a estimate in US $

As you are looking at you CFE bill you will notice that basically it is divided in two vertical sections, I will start by the section in the left hand side:

1- "nombre y domicilio" = name and address
"Ruta" is basically like the area or zone of your house in reference to the meter reading area/zone

2-"medicion de consumo" = "meter reading"
a-"Num. de medidor" = "meter number" as you look at your actual meter at the point of entry you will find this number inside the glass at the bottom of the meter below the little 5 clocks
b-"lectura actual" = "current reading" shows the reading as it was taken by the meter reader.
c-"Mult." = "multiplier" usually it is a one, however that number can change depending of the usage, I believe.
d-"consumo kWh" = "usage in kWh"

3-"periodo de consumo" = "consumption period" the dates below show you the period with the start date and the end date
"dias" = "days" the number of days that that particular period had.
"promedio diario" ="daily average" as in kWh used per day

4- "historial de consumo" = "historical usage" will show you the monthly usage for the past 12 month.

5-"Apoyo gubernamental" payment that the government makes on your bill.

6-"aviso importante" = "Important messages from CFE"

below the message section in smaller letters you have :
"factura" = "invoice"
"Folio" = "file"
"No. aprobacion" = "acceptance number"
"Ano de aprobacio" = "accepted year"
"No. certificado" = "certificate number"

Now starting at the top but in the right hand side half:

1-"numero de servicio" = "service number" this is the number that you enter in the payment machine at the CFE office if you do not want to go to the window, the machine only takes pesos.

2-"total a pagar" = "total due"

3-"Fecha limite de pago" = "due date" this is the final date, if bill has not been paid the power will be disconnected at any time after this date. You can pay your bill at any bank during the 10 days prior to the final due date.

4-"uso"="user type" as in residential or commercial
"Tarifa" = "tariff", they have different cost for different usage type
"Hilos"="cabeling"? I believe this section discribes the type of connection you have to your point of entry as in single phase or triple phase, etc.

5-"facturacion" = ""invoice" break down of consumption this has 4 vertical section that when you read them you need to read each line across.

"concepto"="break downn tier of consumption" "Basico"="basic", "Intermedio"="medium" and I am sure they have a "alto"= "high" for those using lots of power

"kWh" shows how much usage you have for each tier.

"precio"="cost" each tier has it own price, so as you use more electricity it gets more expensive.

"subtotal"="subtotal", need no explanation.

6-"Estado de cuenta"="statement": here they break down your bill as in the cost, taxes, DAP and other surcharges as we have in the states.

Also as you go to the home page of the CFE website you can have it translate to english by clicking "english" in the top right corner.
hope this helps you!!

Nice job, I am going to get my bill and figure it out. That way when I set up my credit I will not look like a total idiot.
Again, Thanks

Inka, thanks for the info on reading the bill, very helpful. When viewing my bill online, I can't find my credit amount. Any suggestions on where to find it?

Inka: This is a TON OF HELP!

Can you please translate what each line in "Estado de cuetna" is?

This includes: Enetrgia, IVA 11%, etc.

How can I tell what the total cost of the bill is?

How can I tell how much credit is left on my bill?

I am glad I could help, I am getting ready to go for Easter family get together but afterwards I will look into it, I have never seen a bill with a credit on it but will do what I can.

Make sure you are doing it in Spanish, the English side of the portal is not working for some time now.

Ok this is my first bill so I do not know exactly what are all the different charges in there and of course it does not have a credit but this is what it shows in mine:

Estado de Cuenta:
1- energia = energy used cost in pesos
2-IVA 11% = Tax 11%
3-Fac del periodo = Invoice for the period = energia + iva
4-DAP = I do not know what this is for but it is 10 pesos in my bill
5-Adeudo anterior = previous balance, it will show an amount if you have a balance forwards from previous bill
6-Su pago = payments, if made due to a previous forward
7-Total = total, it shows your actual balance in your account.

I will imagine that if you have a credit it bill show in your Total as a number with the minus sign in front, since it seems that is the way CFE shows credits.
Hope this help
Gallos
There is no place that shows your credit on the bill that I have ever seen. I keep track of it myself, but bet you could check in the CFE office.
reportjones
What does "Credito Aplic. Fac." in the final cost breakdown mean?

So the "Fac. de Perido" is the total amount of the Invoice foer that period?

Thanks to all!
