I was asked for my dog's paperwork at the US border for the first time ever, on the way back from a trip in March 2011. I gave the agent her rabies paperwork only and he seemed happy with that.
Just a heads up for all those who travel with dogs :) No one has ever asked me for this before, so i was surprised. Good thing i decided to bring it anyway.
I too was asked for my three dogs When I asked why after all these years they are now asking for the paperwork, the response was that there are alot of viruses in Mx and they want to make sure that any dog coming back is up to date in their shots and won't bring anything back. Like sure I let my dogs roam the streets of RP while I am there
We were asked about our dogs about a year ago and were also asked by the agricultural inspector there that day if we were bringing any dog food back with us, I asked him why and he said it was because some of the mix in dog food could include banned meat and poultry products. I didn't have any dog food with me but I guess they can take it if they want to.

Playa...that survey...which has been deleted......was retaliation for the "BS" that HAPPY pulled on the Poll that I had set up concerning a raffle for the little deaf girl. His antics, which most of us have come to expect from him, were TOTAL BS!
I asked him twice....very nicely...to stop his "stuff" and take it elsewhere. If he doesn't have any interest in trying to help the little girl...that's his business, and I would never hold it against him. But to continue with his attacks and rants....was....well.... I could come up with several terms that would not be appropriate on the Forum.
I don't know, or care, if you are his friend, but he conducts himself like a total ASS on here, causing many threads to become train wrecks. And if he takes the previous statement as name calling....so be it....obviously that is how he conducts himself....on this Forum.
I readily admit that I sometimes get into it with a few other Forum regulars, including you....I have a rep of being a pot stirrer....but I don't go about continually starting fights, making fun of just about everyone with his childish "Fishy....hooking" act, ripping into everyone's posts, particularly newbies when they have innocent posts, or throwing just about every thread off topic that he gets on . The man obviously has no self control, or concerns for anyone else but himself or his self gratification!
As I had stated earlier on here...I was not asked for any papers last week when I had my dog with me. I bring him down probably half the time, and it's no big deal to get the shot record from my vet, if this will start being normal practice at the border.
We take our dogs' records with us. We were asked for their papers in November.
Just curious ... Around here they recently changed the law to have the rabies vaccine be good for 3 years. Will they recognize the 3-year shot at the border?

Seadweller and Rocky Point Joe and Lagrimas have been working on this for some time and Happy's comments pretty much degraded their efforts and tanked the attempt to find a way to help her. Back to square one so Happy can get his chuckles. Joe just got frustrated. Happens to us all from time to time.:aagh:
I always get a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for whichever dog(s) I bring. There is no way I would take even the slightest risk of not being able to bring them home...:thumbsup:

Playa....you don't know me from Adam.....and as for "you think u r hero"....I don't see where you get that impression. lagrimas85 and his wife Fabiola have been doing all the work getting the girl tested to begin with, and running her and her mother around. They even made up the difference ($$) for the testing that had not been raised. Mark (Seadweller) arranged to get a tax deduction if someone is willing to donate a "decent" (my words) amount....he also contributed $$. AzRob has arranged a concert later this year over at his place to try to raise some money....and also pledged $$.....Several others have contributed $$....and I have always posted that info on here....so there has been no "tooting of my own horn"....what little I've done has been minimal.
Others on here suggested a raffle...it did not originate with me...and after speaking to a few people about the price that should or could be charged for tickets....I decided to get more opinions on that matter......hopefully from people that I have respect for. Then your buddy HAPPY caused the trainwreck on the Poll thread, to the point that Stuart had to lock the thread....yes, at my request. I don't think I need to explain the reason for that....I'm going to "ass"ume that you have the brains to understand.
