Is it true that cruise ships will start coming to Rocky Point?

Holland America wants to use Penasco as a point of departure for its line. A couple of years ago it was on a fast track then the economy did its thing and so everything is on hold for now. With the recent ground breaking of the new warehouse store and some other things happening around town we may see something starting to shake in the next year or so in that direction. Who knows? We are just along for the ride.

Yeah, the cruise ships will be sailing there as soon as they build the new Monte Carlo style international casino. And the new marina is built and operating. Just probably not in my lifetime... or yours (unless you're like 12 or something).

I think, unfortunately that RP has seen it's hay day. Too many people believe what they read and are scared sh..less to come down. When the economy does break, I don't think people will spend the kind of money they were spending in RP on real estate. This hurts me as much as any investor but I believe what I am seeing.
Another thing that sucks is how the local government has allowed Calle trece to deteriorate.Too many pimps and whores is not a good idea where families once roamed in abundance. Cruise ships? I doubt I'll ever see one.

Sure is true ~~~ only thing is ~~~ they, the cruise liner is going to half to beach it out in front of the Pigeon Coops, ~~~

So that people can dis embark, & re embark, ~~~ after visiting ~~~ "BEAUITFUL" !!! Penasco ~~~ & that should take about

~~~ 15 min. ~~~ so there be no worry about ~~~ "HIGH TIDE" ~~~
~~~ One "MAJOR" problem though, ~~~ the tourist's will get their "Cotton Candy" all wet trying to get back on the ~~~

"Cruise Ship" ~~~

My wife will not allow me to have a Beer Monkey. I wanted a pair of them for the front yard or by the pool. Oh, she was fine when I suggested the Obama Lawn Jockey, but no Beer Monkeys allowed!!!

I need to get us a set of those beer monkeys - about how tall are they, and where are they sold?
azdiva
You can get them anywhere in the tourist areas of RP. About 30" tall and anatomically correct for conversational ideas.
Stuart
Uhhhh, yeah. Anatomy. Then you can make the comment to those of the male persuasion currently in disfavor - "You're hung like a beer monkey!!!" :rofl:

I could see Rocky Point being a port of call. I've been to many Mexican ports of call and they are pretty much like Rocky Point. The majority of shore excursions involve water. Scuba diving is popular, parasailing, waverunners, etc. Many ports offer beach chairs through a beachfront resort and bar service for people who want to just hang out on the beach and go in the water. The Sea of Cortez is beautiful. They could offer a day at one of the resorts that have water features for kids. They would just have to build a big dock for the vendors and a couple of outdoor bars. They could still offer a tour of the city and a meal at a nice restaurant.

What I don't see is Rocky Point as the embarkation city. The airline service is lacking.
