She has some good ideas. kenny ,the cops are rebuilding the police Station at "The Y" some serious bulletproofing going on.I saw our cop buddy....he wants to go fishing with us
She's brave beyond measure, and smart. Her assassination will bring more awareness to the problem than anyone can comprehend and her success, if she lives, will bring the changes she has planned. It's a win/win situation for her, a scary one for those who love her. But she knows the one thing that matters. Absolutely nothing will change without people like her. Vaya con Dios, amiga!
I think we all need to pray and send wishes for success and safety to Marisol. It is so inspiring to see any person do what she is trying to do. Let's send her all of our love and protection. May Marisol and her family be free from all harm and be successful in all good that she tries to do. The world needs more and more people like her!!!!
So she's going to do "selective" law enforcement (not going after the drugs)....and that's going to protect her from the cartels? What is she going to do.....throw the occasional drunk in jail in that small town?
I just don't get it....she has no experience in law enforcement, and with her age, do you expect the rest of the police force in the town to have any respect for her?
Very naive young lady.....or is she already in the pockets of the cartels????

You know anything is possible. But I think that she is a member of a community that needs to find some solutions for itself and that's where all improvement and progress starts, in a person's own community. Let's all send her the most positive wishes, thoughts and prayers and who knows, she might be successful, if the community really backs her and they really want a safe place to raise their families. Here on the border, a lot of us are living with a sense of hopelessness ( I only say "us" because I am involved with people I know and love on a daily basis on the south side of the border), and to see a ray of hope is uplifting. In these circumstances, I welcome any "uplifting".
Janet....I'm always for "uplifting" stories....but do you really expect any community support....from people who are running scared for their own lives, and have no weapons to protect themselves.....and don't assume that last part as an NRA type quip....
I guess I prefer to think this young lady is corageous rather than foolish. If she is living there she surely knows more about circumstances than we do. It's an absolute truth that change in Mexico must come from the bottom to the top and not the top down. I must say I admire her immensely. How many of us have had a similar opportunity but passed it up for lack of courage? Every cause need martyrs as well, her life certainly would not be wasted.:mexico::mexico::mexico:

Rocky Point Joe, don't know what the community can do. But Ascension, Chihuahua, recently showed what a community can do when it has had enough. Tell me if you know the story. It is a community that when a young woman was taken, kidnapped, out of a restaurant about a month ago, the WHOLE town mobilized and went after the five young kidnappers. they rescued the girl, they held off the police and military that tried to PROTECT the kidnappers, and they killed in a gross way two of the kidnappers as they held them captive and held off the military. These people had had enough! They were tired of an average of three kidnappings and or killings a week in their community. Now I in no way approve of mob violence, but I sure do understand what happened. The girl was rescued unharmed. They even chased the car of kidnappers in cars and on their horses. Now I know nothing of the rest of the story, of what happened after. I have read nothing more in the press. What a story!
Joe maybe you can go down with some of your patented anti-narco waterballons and back her up.
