Crossed border in San Luis- 1:15 in Ready Lane, which is supposed for be the fast lan. Pain.
The Coastal road is full of potholes and shoulders that are washed out, so 10 foot drop.
10 hours Puerto Penasco to Ajo.. Normally an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours.. I drove the coastal highway (which I like) pulled up tp the army at Estacion El Doctor and there was a small line of cars, unfortunatly for me there was a semi and an ABC bus they were checking , so I was parked for 30 minutes.. The week before I checked border crossing times and Tuesday between 10 and noon looked best. I stopped for a couple tacos and headed for the border.. border wait time showed 90 minutes, it turned out to be 3.5 hours of step on the gas then step on the brakes.. to make matters worse an older fellow pulling a travel trailer was in the Ready Lane and couldn't make the turn into the gate. Customs officails had everybody stop where they were, moved all the barriers and the old guy proceeded to jackkknife the trailer so that was 30 minutes until they could get him out of the way.. The rest of the trip was fine, with a stop in Gila bend, I left Penasco at 8:45 .. Arrived at the San Luis crossing at 11:45 and Ajo at 6:59.. Not good, headed back to RP on Tuesday and not crossing again until the border opens..I have to say RP last week was nice..
We should all be supporting and going to Penasco because they have nothing to do with this closure. Our beach in Miramar, along with the town, was completely empty this week, even though it was beautiful weather. Last weekend, we dropped off several toys for the kids so they can enjoy Christmas despite the economic hardships.

Multiple sources, including Tommy Tuberville, ICE, the Kaiser Family Foundation as well as the VFW state that illegal immigrants do not receive helthcare at any VA facilities and the VA is not paying for healthcare for illegal immigrants. However "ICE contracts with the VA’s Financial Service Center (VA-FSC) to process reimbursements to private medical providers". In other words, the VA does not provise any care and immegrants are not treated at any VA hospitial, but ICE pays the VA to do the paperwork to process medical claims

Talked to 2 Afghan era vets today at the dog park.Both down from upstate New York for some long term treatment.I asked them how it was going. They have been here a year and said they notice no problems and get right in for multipe visits a month.They said VA care is like all goverment stuff….it works but no frills.
