The gas station in Lukeville is at $4.17 for regular, In Gila Bend it's $4.09. At Why it is $4.59.
In Sonoyta it's $3.60ish per gallon using peso's I got at 19.8-1 2 weeks ago.
Prices in winter do rise for heating oil, natural/propane gas based on how cold it gets and for how long.
In AZ and CA gasoline prices will generally go down because the winter blend additives cost less than the summer blend.
Also much less traveling in winter.
This happens in Nov-Feb more times than it doesn't. Here is the link to see it. https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=emm_epm0_pte_nus_dpg&f=m

Casa Grande is also much cheaper than most...today regular 2.73, and premium a bargain at 3.03. 15 miles down the road in Maricopa add almost 50 cents.

Gas prices in AZ depend on where the gas is piped from. For Phx area gas comes from California (it can be .30-70 cents per gallon more vs TX.)
Gas for Tucson area is piped in from Texas (it costs less)
Also areas outside of Tucson and Phx don't require the winter summer blend fuel required by the EPA Air Quality people ,
that saves $.20-35 cents per gallon,

Phoenix has pipelines from El Paso and California. Maricopa requires CBG blended gasoline which is more expensive than regular unleaded that is used outside Maricopa County. I had a fuel shipping business before I retired, and shipped fuel for various refiners in Texas on Kinder Morgan's East pipeline from El Paso to Phoenix

What? The value of the US monopoly money is dropping? I wounder why.
In 2022, the country's economic growth was favorable. The year’s second quarter was the best-performing quarter, with a growth of 1.2% and cumulative GDP growth of 3%. Mexico’s economic activity recovered to significant levels, mainly because tourism increased by 45% compared to 2021. In addition, exports from the automotive sector and remittances also grew.
The peso’s appreciation is also due to external factors such as the US Federal Reserve and the strengthening of oil prices, which has allowed several emerging countries to report significant gains. "The Mexican peso registered an annual appreciation of 7.7% as of January 10, which placed it in the second position of currencies with the largest gains since December 2021," said Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Mexico’s Minister of Finance.
Those trump tax give aways to the rich is my first guess but blame Biden helping kids get free lunches if it keeps your cognitive dissonance in check .
With present gas prices, AMLO is letting Pemex make a profit on the backs of some of the poorest people north of the equator.
Mexico subsidises gas prices here in Mexico. Mexico does not refine enough gas to provide all the needs in Mexico, so it has to import about 65% of it's gasoline from the US.
As we all expect, gas pumps in Mx are a bit slower than stateside. We now have proof: yesterday while trying to get a fill in an older Ford, we had to leave it running due to a questionable battery. Couldn't get it full.

Most locals order by a certain set of litros so the attendant sets it to that amount and the computer thinks it might be being checked for accuracy otherwise it will go to town on you.

I averaged about 8 gallons from Tucson to border and have to buy gas near the border or Pemex in Sonoyta so I will have enough gas to make it back across the POE.
Don’t really like buying gas in Penasco it’s very expensive.
