I am still counting down the days till we are there on vacation. I am still looking for the best of “Rocky Point”
1. Best massage
2. Best restaurant for sea food & cold beer
3. Best place to rent 4 wheelers
4. Best day long fishing charter
5. Best coffee
And any other best of….Thanks :ugeek:
I like Mary's, in the fish market for Filet al mojo del ajo and their "surprise avocado", but I have other restaurants, like playa bonita for calmari or Brissa for tripe or carne asada tacos, Ramon's for whole fried fish, or chicken mole, and there is a little place in the south west corner of Sonora Ave and Cuauhtemoc, I believe, that has the best campechana I have ever tried in PP, mmmm yummi, way to many to remember right at this moment, specially when thinking of food!! and the best sonora hot dogs are in the south east corner of Lee st anf Alvernon "El Sinaloense" en Tucson, just had a couple!! :eek3: forget BK or Guero Canelo!!
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Then you better send me some info so I can put it in my website, but only if you feel the free advertising is going to help you, otherwise you can also do like the others!! I wonder if their ears shut when I mention it is going up in my website for FREE!! :eek3:
PS: I have a group of 12 guys, for June, that went somewhere else, cause I did not have your info!!! things that makes you go mmmmmmmmm!!
Ha! No offense taken. The reason I'm the best is that I'm not open to the general public. I don't do it for a living; I do it to catch quality fish and have fun. I couldn't put 12 guys on my boat if I wanted to -- they need to get Joker or one of the large tubs at the public harbor for that many people. I take 3 or 4 guys max and put them on the fish.
You want to catch a cooler full of triggerfish and sand bass, take any charter boat out of Rocky Point. You want to go out and catch quality fish, you go with me. At last count, I've had twelve different people tell me "That's the biggest fish I've ever caught in my life!" I don't do "meat" trips. I do "trophy" trips. That's what it's all about!
If you're lucky enough, maybe you can go with Ric instead. Or Doug and Scott. Or Art and Shawno. Or Audi. Dan's getting there (no offense, Dan!). These guys fish the same way I do -- go BIG or stay at the marina!
:gofish: :fish:
I'm going to be down the 13 - 16 with about 2-3 other guys. We were looking at doing a fishing trip because we love fishing but never been deep sea fishing (just lakes). PM with some details if it's something you'd be willing to do.
If you have kids with you the best ice cream is at La Reina Michoacana across the street from Posada La Roca and Restaurante Portofino at the entrance of the fish market/malecon.
Stuart, if that is what you like then just do it that way, not all the people that contacts me for fishing trips are 12 at once I have people interested and are groups of 2 or 3, again it is up to you a contact phone call by the propective client and you will know what you are dealing with, mainly is just to put your contact info there, I personaly do not gain anything or loose anything by trying to help other thru my website!! :eek3: I believe it is call NETWORKING, all I ask is if anybody ask you about a shuttle from Tucson you mention my company instead of Nena's, which goes to Phoenix first anyway and charges the same or more than I do, so I am not really afraid of them or any other competetion.
Hey Amigo you know about those pills we were talking about in the boxes...no not those the Prilosec
I may need some I think they cost $28 for 100 genenrics..will try to make it down if you see them cheaper

I've learned that if you go to any farmacia that has the sign "con vida" you will get generic medicine a lot cheaper than in a regular farmacia for any type of generic medicine, for the pills I need and a couple others I found that "cosmos" is cheapest, like Ripley's "believe or not" :eek3:
If you are down we can go farmacia hopping, and then to de Club de los oficiales for some cheap beer, ja, ja, ja!!

Yes "Cosmos" is the cheapest on most medicines and if you tell him you know barb and mark and ask for a discount you can get them even cheaper... Pedro is a good friend and very knowledgable on the medicines he sells...
I've had good luck with the prices at the Pharmacy on the diagonal road off Benito Juarez just past the Town Hall.... on the way to Manny's and the Mirador. They seem to discount everything from the listed prices when you pay with US $$.
Ok Manny, here is your forum to tell us about the Copa, Copa Cabana.
Sadly its been closed for almost 2 years :(
Still have the website up for memories, someday we will reopen the Copa again
aaa the Copa Cabana, still miss it sometimes, its nice to hear people still remember it, thanks. :)
Best Restaurant in town? What do you guys say? We could even break it down this way...
Authentic Mexican: Coyote Grill (malecon) and La Cocina de Ramon (9 blocks east from Benito Juarez and 2 blocks south of Simon Morua)
Italian: Portofino (only one I know)
Asian: Sapporo for Sushi, seadweller knows a good take out!!
Seafood: Mary's (fish Market)
American:
Street Tacos: Tacos Brissa (Sinalos & Melchor Ocampo)
Burger:
Pizza: Cheiky's (best mexican pizza) Capone's (american style pizza)
I think that ought to cover it.
Those are not the best since that will be more of a personal choice, however for me those are the best!!
When Tammy and I lived in Mexico, we'd usually only stop to eat at places that had lots of customers. We were never disapoionted. Tammy got kind of miffed at me one time when I told her she was enjoying gut soup. I thought it was great.
Oyes amigo, you left out American....That would be Burger King....
No, no, you will never see me at BK or any americanized food establishment, unless I am there to drink only!! that is why I left those to categories for others with more knowledge.
I like to frequent places where the parking lots have more mexican license plates, that is a sign of good food, if it is a local restaurant, been to Capones once cause i was meeting someone else, I was hungry and order one of their Pizzas and it was good but nothing to brag about, again in my opinion Chekys is much much better plus they add the mexican twist to it and makes it for a very interesting pizza that tastes very very good!!

Yes Inks.... I have tried this place 5 or 6 times in the past month and it has been great every time... lots of food and very resonablly priced... it's called "The Fortune Express" and it is on the NE Corner of "Constitution" and "Blvd. Samuel Ocaña" a.k.a. the new road to condos on sandy beach...
.........there is a little place in the south west corner of Sonora Ave and Cuauhtemoc, I believe, that has the best campechana I have ever tried in PP, mmmm yummi.......
any of the seafood cocktail they have are really good!!!
Gua Gua's has the best priced hookers in town hands down. Its a personal favorite. Make sure you bring plenty of $1's or 10 pesos to tip cause its the only strip club Ive ever been too that cant give you change to tip the girls.
you can charter the About Time, [email protected] in this pictures we won the fishing tournament, Adolfo Perez, Rick Hammer, Maribel Ruiz, Oscar Perez, Jose Acevedo.
Many in this forum can tell you how good this guys are, they took us out to Bird island, although not a fishing trip and in the Pacifica WOW!!, but as I spoke to them I found about their knowledge of the Sea of Cortez as well as fishing and their service is awesome!! and I guess I have not mention but they won the ltest fishing tournament!!

It's also the last of a couple of titty bars that are left. They're dropping like flies too? Saw a post on here that Sr. Porchas, who owned Dunas, and the little place on Calle 13 next to the Chinese restaurant, and still owns El Sombrero, has got the restaurant and hotel across the street up for sale.

You can also book a charter thru Mark (Seadweller) at http://www.rockypointboattrips.com/index.html He and his wife Barb run the "Adopt a Classroom" program in Penasco, and have arranged the boat trips out to Bird Island for the Forum folks!!!
