I have heard two different, independent reports, first hand, that US folk are bring blamed for the virus infection in Mexico. Both comments were made at one of the enforced health stops, and by an enforcement officer. One person was told to 'go home to the states'.

That reminds me, did you ever confirm the story about the American who was taken to the clinic and it was found that he was infected, and two were put in quarantine. Who was put into quarantine, and how long was he at the resort is just two of a long list of questions I'd like to know the answer to about that occurrence.

I have read it was a few wealthy Mexicans traveling to Colorado during the winter who brought the Chinese virus back with them. Doesn't really matter, at the end of the day this all started in Wuhan China. Then China spent weeks/months trying to cover it up and denying it existed. That is the period it started traveling the world. We know that as a fact.

Last I knew he was transferred to Arizona very early. He was confirmed in AZ as being infected. I was told two staff who worked with him here were quarantined. I have no details. I have been in contact with a family who is still at Playa Bonita. I will ask what they know about this.

True the population of Croatia is 4 million but they literally sit next door to one of Italy's early hot spots
the Veneto region and surprising they only have 33 deaths so far.
I'm with you and really glad AZ isn't next door to NY or other bad areas.
This is where regions like NY would have really benefited from shutting everything down early.

Both AZ universities has almost 50 confirmed cases between them the week after spring break as reported locally. Where were some of those kids a week prior? During the same time the president was saying this week we have 15 cases, next week we'll have 0... 45 days later 32,000 people have died.

Thank god the west is developed differently than the east coast. We have the luxury of LAND and instead of living on top of one another, we're more spread out. I would hope that has had some effect.

Obviously it would be speculating on the Mexican's part to think that Americans brought the virus to their town. Can you blame them? It was already news at that point but because a large portion of the population downplays facts, kids still traveled from Phoenix to RP for spring break. At the same time there were confirmed cases in Sinaloa. No facts so no point in arguing but it's at least possible we did bring it there. It's also possible it came domestically from the south.
3 weeks ago, the state director of health in Az told primary care doctors to stop testing - that's why Az has so few cases reported. I'd sure like to see more than 1% of the country tested before they open anything up. Stay safe, stay healthy.

I started a self-quarantine early last month. I shopped at Basha's for myself one-time early last month, but the 2 times I've needed provisions since, I've ordered online from Fry's 20 miles away in Cottonwood. They bring it to my Jeep. I don't even have to get out.
So I was with one person early last month and a trip to the store soon after. No contact since and of course I'm fine. But here's the bomb, I could still be a carrier of the vires, but I won't know unless I'm tested. If I'm tested and it's found that I am a carrier, what then? Of course, I don't expect to be a carrier or get it while I'm staying at home. I'm the right age and with COPD to die if I get that shit though, so I'm the one who will call the shots before I mingle again, and that will be when it's actually spread out like the flu and Pneumonia are at this time, or somewhere close.

It's someone selling it as reality, a Don the Con special. Without wide spread testing for the CV and Antibody tests how many people will start
going places to be around crowds? I would wager the fear of something that we can't see will keep that from happening until those promised tests become main stream. Not mainstream enough yet.

Roberto, It wouldn't surprise me at all that the amount of cases in Mexico are lower than reality, same as with most of the countries out there.
In the US we've done 3,400,000 tests so far, 20% were positive, only approx 1% of the US population

Testing for what? Just assume EVERYONE is a carrier at this point. Even if you get a test, those results are only good for the 5 minutes it took to do the test. You could literally be exposed to the Chinese virus the very next minute. Stop with the testing obsession. Only those very sick should have testing priority.

Testing is a good thing, if you test positive go home and quarantine and not spread it to those who
don't have it yet, I'm sure there are a few out there.
Assumptions, (It's just like the Flu and will go away by April 1st) that's what our vocal leader did and look what that did for us.
The Frontline hero's are paying the price for that.

What he said was true and that's why Chris Cuomo can't be with his wife who just came down with it until hers runs its course. But, to think they both won't need tests to make sure neither is contagious, to put it simply. shows a lack of cognitive thinking. It's just not that simple.

Now I don't think any of the numbers we get are completely accurate, that's impossible, but the handy site I put up is in step with most all other reputable sources here in the states. Baja actually is up to 72 confirmed deaths today and 565 confirmed positive as I type this. Those #'s make the CFR 12% which is really scary. With more testing the CFR should fall obviously to hopefully a much much lower #.

Ah ha, thank you. They may not be completely accurate as none are, but it's a very well put together site. The graphs are important so you can have a visual of the rise in cases comparatively.
My sister sent this to me today, and it's just this easy to get. I suspect in Mexico there is going to be a jump in cases because of Easter gatherings of all kinds.
I have a friend in Canada who was exposed by a person who had just been in Las Vegas. 3 days later her symptoms started. Cough and fever. Having a family (2 teen boys & hubby) she stayed in her room only. Said it was horrid, not the isolation, but being very ill. It has been 5 weeks now and she still won't go out but is released from her bedroom.

Queen - so assuming EVERYONE is a carrier - how long do you suppose the virus lasts in/on a carrier? And how long AFTER you became a carrier, are you still a carrier? We don't want to get this virus from anyone carrying it around and sharing it unknowingly, nor do we want to be carriers without knowing it. So please tell me, how do we know without tests? We've been keeping our distance and doing everything we can for over 5 weeks, yet I think I'm going to stay home for a while yet. Good luck to everyone, stay safe, stay home and stay healthy.

There are 2 types of testing being discussed.
The test for being currently infected or non- infected by the virus.
The other test being the anti-body test which would test both current and past exposure.
The only test worth conducting for the masses would be the antibody test.
The other test would be meaningless for the millions of people who may have had the virus and were asymptomatic, have developed an immunity , and would currently test negative. That data would be useless and meaningless for predicting and modeling.

Not sure if you are being sincere or a smart ass. Guessing the later.
Here is my answer : A long freaking time.
My response was a general response based upon prior posts debating the validity of testing or not testing.
The only way to get out of this thing is to develop herd immunity. Same as all the prior corona/sars/mers viruses. Shuttering in place only prolongs and delays the virus from it naturally dying off and almost guarantees a second wave.
Feel bad for Rocky Point. virtually Zero cases, zero herd immunity, a crushed economy, and a high likelihood this all comes back again because nobody has been exposed/immunized.
Flatten the Curve = Prolong the Virus
Shuttering in Place = No Herd Immunity
No Herd Immunity = Longer Pain and Suffering both Health-wise and Economically
Hope that eases your inquiring mind.

I agree, No real Plan at the Federal level, wait didn't they start doing the right thing with stay at home orders, Ahh, no, the states did that.
Pushing to open places up while new cases are climbing 27,500 in the US today alone, Duuh! And More Duuh!
The best thing people can do is watch the curve of new cases, when those drop dramatically and recovered cases increases dramatically,
only then, would I feel confident to start mingling again provided that AZ and other states opened things back up.
People themselves should make that decision for themselves, Not the DC CV-19 Circus.
Zero confidence in that group because of the person at the top controlling it.

Hope is a fantastic strategy. Good luck with that.
Protect our elders and older folks, and those who are health-compromised. Have them shelter in place until herd immunity is achieved.
Put the kids back in school, the almost no-risk segment of our population, let them spread it around and create herd immunity for us all, and then the virus will dissipate and die. Keeping kids out of school and not exposed is going to allow this thing to linger for another 6-18 months. And then it could likely come back with a vengeance.
This virus so far is not that different than 2003 and 2009. The main difference is the panic and ridiculous comparison to the US being like Italy. The media scaring the living shit out of people and our economy being totally shut down is the primary difference than the prior pandemics. However the unintended consequences will be dramatically worse than the actual virus itself.
Can you even begin to imagine if we had a ticker on CNN or Fox showing the infected count and the 30-60,000 deaths from the flu each year ?? We would all lose our minds.
Not saying Covid is not serious, it is. But for goodness sake, so is ruining our economy because of knee-jerk shut it down decisions and BAD DATA !

I could not agree more. If only Xi and the CCP had told the truth in December, January, February, well just about anytime, their Chinese virus would not have been nearly as ubiquitous and maybe a pandemic could have been avoided. However, like Russia, China is NEVER to be trusted.

Well the sun is not setting yet but it's a beautiful day sitting on the seaside deck. No clouds. Nice comfortable breeze. Birds feeding off shore. No one in sight. The Aholes with the loud rigs of yesterday are not active yet. Maybe they left for home? I am glad I gave up TV 20 years ago.

It's a process we've used for years to determine if our theories meet the results of testing in a controlled environment. Just to let you know, staying at home is a THEORY to slow the spread. Wouldn't you want to know what the data says after we institute a plan, aka a theory?! Obviously if you understand correlation you could THEORIZE the outcome of the test. Btwwww did anyone watch the McDonalds fraud documentary on HBO? Kind of boring to be honest, they dragged the show out into 6 parts. Story could have been told in 3 or 4 but to each their own. Just had to go to a UPS store because something that I ordered on Amazon wasn't left at the door yesterday by UPS. Amazon is contracting the service of UPS right now because of shipping delays. Amazon has NEVER not left one of my packages. UPS is hit or miss. Either it's company policy or driver discretion. Either way, HOW COUNTER PRODUCTIVE!!!! Jesus, I bought this shit on Amazon specifically to NOT have to go into a store in PUBLIC. So because they wouldn't leave this at the door I had to go out into public, into a UPS store. Waiting two back from the counter the guy behind me apparently has a different definition of 6 feet. I guess 28" was = to 6 feet in his book. Get up to the counter, I pass the UPS delivery note that went from PERSON A (ups driver), PERSON B (ME and my living space for 12 hours) to PERSON C (ups store clerk). He then proceeds to hand me my box that he has touched and has been sitting in his store for 12 hours... to add insult to injury I now HAD to use the electronic PEN to sign my name.... I MEAN I SWEAR TO GOD, WHY EVEN HAVE RULES?! So as I'm getting back into my car I was thinking of how this relates to testing...
I now have contaminated my hands, which have made direct contact with the handles of the wheels of my wheelchair. I've touched my keys, my glasses, my door handles, steering wheel, AC selector, volume on the radio, window shades... the list goes on. I get home, front door knob, inside door knob to shut and lock.... I proceed to wash my hands. That isn't the end all be all because guess what? I have to touch my wheelchair now to move... lol so now I take anti-bacterial soap and proceed to wipe down the chair, every single place I've touched it. Now the door knobs... haven't been out to the car yet. Haven't done EACH KEY on my key ring. The lanyard that goes around my neck. My wallet or glasses... You would have to do this or should be doing this after every trip into public. Wouldn't it be nice to know if you already had this and didn't know but because your body and physiology kicked the virus ass you wouldn't need to take these precautions any longer? That's what testing does.

Other data that would be collected is age of person. We THEORIZE this effects older humans more severely. What does the data show? I thought I saw a couple of nights ago that the older segment isn't as high as I thought it would have been. This is also how we understand correlation with OTHER underlying health issues, IE Diabetes, obesity, high blood sugar... DATA would be able to tell us with certainty if there is a portion of the population that has higher chances of contracting and or surviving the disease.

Loaded with two inch long Tadpole Shrimp at this moment. There is no limit on them. They make a delicious shrimp cocktail if you can get over the fact that they are completely transparent other than their pair of bright orange egg sacks.
If your kayaki flips over out there don't worry, the deepest point in the lake is only two feet with six feet of mud on the bottom.

Had a couple of creeps give me the stink eye, most likely due to the fact I won't wear a mask in public or anywhere else unless I'm at my beadblaster cleaning up a part. Now, if I had a current issue US Army NBC mask I might use it in public but they cost plenty and I'd still be exposed unless some one could hose me down before taking it and all of my clothes off.

Some of these posters are absolute TROLLS! I've been going into public everyday at least once for something. I don't live in fear at all whatsoever. I guarantee my BALLS are bigger than STEVE IGGY AND QUEEN put together.

Except for the past month or so, it's been pretty calm (a little too calm) compared to a few years ago. By mid Nov the political stuff will die down

I got de bug mon.................
I can finally contribute some factual information concerning the Chink-A-Dung Floo as I am 99.99% certain that I am now infected.
First clue was last Sunday afternoon after a fruitless search for fresh citrus over on the California side of the river. All of the home based vendors were closed and locked up like there was some kind of deadly pandemic plague in effect. On the way home I had some particularly bad lung weezieness. I always carry one of those Salbutaol inhalers to clear my lungs due to the agricultural chemical dust, pollen, off-roading dust and polvo from my bead blaster. Usually two blasts clear my lungs completely.
By bedtime around midnight I was still hocking up a clear thin snotty liquid. At about four AM I woke in a death fit with no air in my lungs quite similar to a no air scuba incident. After two hours of comode hugging hacking and choking and nine blasts from the inhaler I finally gained a little lung space and made it thru the morning.
Monday night ended in the exact same scenario but I was a little more prepared and sat it out propped up in a sitting position and inhaler in hand.
Tuesday I sat it out upright then fell asleep only to wake up in a pool of hot sweat and freezing chills. First thing i thought was that I was having a malaria febrile episode.
Wednesday night an exact replay of the night before. Some other effects are pain in every joint, my whole rib cage is in pain and wracked by the coughing and hacking and incredible painful eye popping cramps.
Last night an instant replay of the night before.
When I'm upright and walking around I feel just fine.
Just my opinion here but just because you think you might have it there is no reason to surrender you body to the certain death of the cure at the hospital.
