Bad accident this morning

My daughter left for home about 7:30 this morning and came upon an accident that had just happened on the bypass east of RP. A SUV hit a car that had swerved to miss a dog and rolled several times. My daughter is an EMT and reserve Firefighter and stopped to help. She helped a lady out of the badly wrecked vehicle and checked her out and said it appeared she was not badly injured. The good news was the ambulance arrived at the scene in 12 minutes. For those driving home tomorrow be very careful and slow down. Your biggest risk of injury or death is not from narco violence like the news channels report but from being involved in a bad auto accident. Take it slow and easy and stay safe.

Yes, my son left Miramar and came upon this accident, said it was a bad scene. Drive safely and slow down is good advice.

Yesterday we left at 6:00 am I normally move along at a pretty good clip in my van and yet I was passed by at least 30 cars and trucks and 2 cars that had to be doing at least 120 mph. It is not worth it. As we know the side road around Sonoyta and obviously others didn't we were actually ahead of al of these cars when we got to the border and we didn't put anybody else at risk doing it. Slow down folks.

Two cars were passing us at the same time on the way down last week. The second car couldn't see the oncoming truck. First car gets by and cuts in, second car now sees the truck bearing down with nowhere to go. Me and the truck run off on the shoulder and the car goes between us. Really dumb.

I'm grateful you weren't killed! I have had experience with crazy speeding passers. At least they are around me before I can see 'em coming since my top speed is 70 in my big ol Jeep and that's pushing it! LOL!

The accident from Tuesday. Mom, Dad, & teenage daughter were still in the car. Slow down...

Holy cow that is bad

Keep driving like hell... and you'll get there.

Still, I hate to see these these things after pulling a guy out of a burning truck on Dead Cow highway a few years ago. He was lucky. By the grace of God (and LifeFlight), he survived.

That's why I don't take Dead Cow Rd anymore. Too damn dangereous and the little if any time it saves is meaningless.

Haven't seen the crazy drivers on Dead Cow to the extent that it was years ago -- maybe because it seems to be patrolled more. Certainly haven't seen any dead cows for a few years, in contrast to the "cow litter" that was always enroute in years past. I've timed both routes, and Dead Cow saves 5-10 minutes.

Maricopa County fenced the road a while back due to all the accidents. I do, however, still drive Hwy. 238 slow at night.

I continue on 347 through Maricopa, right on 84, then I-8 to Gila Bend. Some stop lights in Maricopa but once out of town it's 2 lanes with a 65 speed limit and 75 on I-8. Completely bypasses Gila bend, very safe and easy drive.

Wasn't aware. And yeah -- at night I'd imagine 8 is way safer. and worth the extra minutes (unless you get a train in Maricopa!) I travel 238 during the day, when traffic is down.

Not sure if the Mexican hi-ways are any worse than driving the 101 in Phoenix. In the construction zones the speed limit is 55 but I would guess the average speed is 75.

Yes and on highway 238 if the signs on the road say closed due to flooding ,don't go around. I did it a day after rain storm and sun was out no water on road or in any previous washes. Get to end of road and there is a sheriff pulling over guy in front of me and one behind me . 170.00 each. Happy b-day to me . Oh well. Another time passed by undercover cop i'm doing 75 hes doing 85-90 flashed me and kept going . Guess were even Leigh

I've since slowed down
