Every year the Rv group known as Escapees Mexico connection make their way south of the border to visit different places. This year was Puerto Peñasco. The caravan was 60 rigs, 120 people and they are here for 10 days. They eat out, they visit the Cantinas, they go on tours and like today they are all going whale watching. Just this impact should be enough, but they go farther....they budget into their per rig cost a donation fee. They will either give cash to charities or buy (locally) goods to donate to different charities, they do this as a group. 4 Years ago I worked with the to buy supplies for a school for disabled kids and a few other charities and the amount of giving topped 4000.00 usd. Here are a few pics Escapees 2016 from the last 3 days touring with 90 of the 120 attendees. They can come back anytime.
Cool. Should be there tomorrow. Will be nice to feel like there are people in town. Quiet there is nice but its cool to see people roaming around town too.
Even the mayor "Kiko" Munro gave them a warm welcome. We met the President of the Club at Wreck at the Reef during Super Bowl. This was one great group of RVers.
