The weather is beautiful...very light breeze, the water is flat calm....crystal clear off the Mirador.

I've known Jose for quite some time....he's always treated me and my daughter very well....so obviously I try to reciprocate. I'm also very "comfortable" going there. And contrary to Sun City Chari, it is not that noisy in there....but I've only been a couple of times when they had live music.

Oh come on Chari....you're sounding like one of those Sun City retirees!!:rofl: You only MAY need earplugs when they have live music....I've never noticed any need when they have a game going, or the fights, unless some of the fans get boisterous.

Not intentionally trying to burst someone's bubble, but I know a couple of people who are renting a house in town...2-3 bedroom for about 2000 pesos. I'm sure electric is extra, but......isn't $350 a month for a small studio a bit high? Is it right on the water?

Bill....are you talking about the new larger elliptical dishes that Directv is using now? They also have a brace for the pole. I think they're hitting 5 different satellites, and have to be pretty spot on to get a good signal from all to get all of the hd channels.

To go to Directv HD, you need a new dish and the aiming/pointing is quite a bit more complicated....you have to adjust for 3 angles (the Dishnetwork dishes have had that, although they are smaller).....I had one installed when I moved recently, and the installers have a device that helps them...

The one thing I hate about deep frying is the cleanup afterwards.......you almost can't avoid a little splatter and spill over of the oil..... Rob....depending on how many people will be there and how much food....I'm sure everything would go quicker with 2....I used to make 3 turkeys....one...

I have a large container of peanut oil from Costco (still sealed) that I bought last year for Thanksgiving but due to a death in the family, we weren't in the mood for any celebration. I know the oil becomes rancid once opened after about 3-6 months. Does anyone know if it should still be good...

ernesto...unless you've been in that part of the line that you could see the police directing the forming of the second line, it is very easy to make the "assumption" that it was a bunch of selfish, arrogant, no manners people doing so on their own to save an hour or more waiting on the line...

I did one a couple years back (Christmas time in Penasco)...the ham gets a bit charred on the outside....but it was super juicy and tender inside!!!

I'll be there....early for a change! I've been down the past 2-3 years, but never made it in time for the pot luck....always had family get-together at my house before coming down. If someone's bringing a deep fryer....I'll bring a turkey or two.... We ought to try a deep fried ham too!
