Building Blocks, Home Port

You can also use the windows short cut, character map for the accented letters.
Type in "character nap" in the start menu search box, and add it to your task bar
or desktop.
Very cool. I have been building gaming systems for 18 years, more of a hardware guy, so I am terrible with what software is available to use within Windows.
Thanks a lot.

I think it's you that needs to "stinkin" chill out Russ and remember you ain't driving your Van with a bunch of tourist's in it that dote on your every word here. This is a open forum.....Geeezz, you'd think he called you a flim flam man.
Thanks Kenny. I didn't think I said anything controversial, and was fairly clear about what I thought was most important.

I guess I should have just said " I wonder if this will help the people that actually live down there or not. " and left well enough alone lol. It's been a long time since I have been part of a forum and I guess I learned there are Trolls living in PP too!

What was even funnier was Chihauhau liked my comment and then liked Alacranes' reply flaming me! LMAO... It puts things into perspective with who is "contributing" to the forums.

The other home port thread just got too long.....here's a few pictures of the crazy busy construction of the Home Port Building blocks going on in the desert North of Esmeralda. They have been busy for weeks and are adding capacity to manufacture the blocks they need. It is incredible what they can do!

Good luck starting a new thread . . . .

You can call Puerto Peñasco Rocky Point as it was discovered and marked that way by a very early sailor, way before it was a town. You can not call it Puerto Penasco as that is wrong all day long. (its a ñ thing, bugs me all day long alt 0241 solves it)

Men change everything they touch, complaining about it does not make it better.

Find your happy place and stay there, don't bang on people who see things differently than you.

We will roll with the changes, we will try to profit on the changes, we are not making the changes we are simply adapting to them.

Grab a cold beer go look at the beach while you are still alive (if that's your thing) and stinkin chill out.
Very well said, Russ. Especially "Find your happy place and stay there, don't bang on people who see things differently than you."

How about progressing and getting the street kids some nice cloth rags for cleaning windshields, instead of rags filled with sand. That would improve the economy greatly and helps drivers not live in fear as they wait for the light to change.

Just want to stick my dos centavos in here. When we are talking about the local economy in general and the "locals" benefitting, especially when talking about beach vendors - I'd just like to make it clear that a majority of them are not "locals". They are Mexicans, but they come from other areas of Mexico and DO NOT live in PP full time. They are seasonal - they return to their home states, or move on to beach towns further south that are in high season when PP is not. I understand, though, that it indirectly effects the local economy because even those vendors living temporarily in PP have to buy locally while living there.

Well...it is a complex issue and we are just talking...no worries from me( I enjoy the give and take) but it is fair game to talk about the Sea killing nightmare. You boosters realize we will not get a Disney Super Ship but most likely a crappy old Carnival pollution machine that will trudge the 7 stop Northern gulf bargain 7 day 6 night buffet and booze torture feast don't you? Three day old lime jello served by Pakistan s finest...The Mexican congress may kill this bad idea soon if they do not legalize gambling.... No international waters in the gulf.

As a half hillbilly myself (Elkhart Indiana lodge) I want to know why anyone has problem with our people? Especially Cholla bay people...We each have junk boats and pickups on blocks in our messy yards,we like our beer and are required to have a smoker on the patio
I wasn't really offended by the Hillbilly comment, I was mostly concerned that someone was looking into my lineage, lol.

The white side of my family is from the hills in Springfield Ohio, grand pappy was even kkk.... I am a half breed that loves and hates everyone equally.... well, almost everyone. o_O

The federal government has already authorized the operation of casinos and duty free stores on board cruise ships on the Sea of Cortez.

It seems some people don't read well. One comment states .not a fan of sandy beach, and bashes the economic values of the homeport. While another tells them to go to Santo Tomas. So get away from anylizing some peoples thoughts and beliefs. I agree the port will benefit PP but with any progress comes problems.
I may not as educated as some and well versed , but the way I see it the dissenters can pack up there 5th wheels and go to Santo Tomas and support the Ejido.
More money will come to PP , property values raise , airport will function more, restaurants will feed more tourist, penacate to see more visitors, condo owners will reap rentals, more service jobs ,(taxis, baggage handlers, maids, security, cooks, etc ).
Ok I am ready for your attacks. But I am not a two or three time year visitor, I own here and support the locals daily.

When Hillberto said "I never call Puerto Penasco Rocky Point" because he didn't want to get lumped in with tourists, Russ responded that it was William Hardy in 1825 who first named the area Rocky Point. There was no need to start bashing him for that response- let's all chill out , especially during the holidays. Some people living in Penasco (can't get the tilda on my laptop) want the port, calling them names isn't going to change their feeling on that. I'm for the port if it helps people raise their standard of living, but I'm glad it's in Sandy Beach and not down by the Mayan- we can look at it from afar. I said I would never take a cruise ship, but the thought of cruising the Sea of Cortez sounds really tempting!

I will remind you of this when the water shortages come, the crime goes up,the beach hustlers become unbearable, the border wait stretches to hours, the prices go sky high to eat out and beach garbage is everywhere. Why isn't Cetmar backing this boondoggle? Because their team privately thinks it is a nightmare for the environment but cannot comment publicly. Fear of reprisal...

"They started the name calling in this thread then act all hurt when it comes back at them."

Jerry, I didn't think Russ's comment had any name calling- just stating the facts that you can call the town Rocky Point because that's the original name.
